Planning Tips for Your Disney World Trip - Start Here!!!

Funny that you can't get Gene plus with your ticket. you have to wait til 7 days before the trip to purchase it.
At Disneyland, you purchase it with your ticket.
DL Genie+ has always worked differently from WDW in many ways.

In order to help avoid confusion, especially during this transition time, please keep discussion in this thread and on this board to WDW. Thanks!!

Yeah maybe we should just do three parks and not the park hopper so we an enjoy those parks and our stay. Especially since we haven't been there in a while. we do have another day that we want to just relax, go to Disney Springs or whatever.

I think 3 relaxed same park days sounds the least stressful and most enjoyable.

There is a 3 park ticket, but it excludes MK, so probably doesn’t work for most people.

We used it for AK, HS, and EPCOT our last trip when we only had 2.5 days. Then, we added a MK party night. We managed all 4 parks that way from arrival Sat noon to leaving early Tuesday morning, but I would not recommend it for newbies, families, or those wanting a relaxing time. We were two adults only doing a handful of specific things, and even then it was exhausting and not something I plan to ever repeat. I think next trip, we will do one park per day only, with a max of only one or two parks total.

thank you. I am trying to read up on everything since it's been years since we have been there!

My best advice is figure out what you want to do at each park. Make a list of priorities and know you won’t do everything.

I also recommend spending the $30 or whatever it is now for a Touring Plans subscription to have access to the custom plan feature. It’s a great way to see realistically what you can fit in in a day. You give it a list of attractions and tell it things like breaks and walking speed. You can tell it to prioritize waiting or walking. It then gives you a list of attractions and the best order to do them in to minimize waiting or walking depending what input you gave it. If you can’t fit everything in, it tells you. It will give you a minute by minute breakdown of the day.

X minutes to wait in line for ride A, Time is now…
X minutes to ride, Time is now…
X minutes to walk to ride B, Time is now…
X minutes of downtime if before a specific reservation, Time is now…

It’s such a great resource for determining how much time you need in each park based on your must do attractions.

I do have touring plans. so I will need to look at that.
It is a good idea to go through the list and decide what we want to do or not want to do. :)
thanks!

Just a heads up that things change so quickly at Disney that much of what is in a printed book may be outdated. You may be better to look for current youtube videos.

Just my .02

We made a list and it was so helpful. We had what we would really like to do, if we had time, and definitely not.

We did a lot of research also and watched u tube and of course got lots of info on Dis Forum.
