I was just wondering when the best time for a planning session would be. We are planning a hopefully a June 2007 wedding (we wanted christmas time but decided it would not be wise since most our family is from the northeast and there has been a ton of snow storms last couple of winters! :cold: ) I think january would be the best time for me plus it is value season so we would save$$$$ but that would be 5 moths before is that too far in advance?

We got married in June 2004, and had our planning session at the end of January 2004. I found the timing worked out well, as we got our estimated budget a few weeks later and had plently of time to make adjustments to our budget. Plus the earlier you have your planning session the earlier you meet your event manager and get their undivided attention (or whatever they are called now) to get your questions answered.

we had our site visit in november last year & then booked our march 21st 2006 wedding this march. we are going for our final planning session with the em, florist, musicians, menu tasting w/ chef, etc this november. we cant wait for march when we walk down the aisle and become man & wife !

I was wondering what you could do in advance as well. We will be at wdw in 3 weeks, but it will be a year before our vow renewal so I thought it was too early to do a planning session. But making it back before next year might be impossible.

What sites can you go view without an appointment? If you do go with a coordinator how long does it take (we will have 5 kids with us). Wonder if it's even possible to get an appointment this close. Does anyone know these answers?

Thanks,

Crissy

Actually, I just got back from wdw and my DH2B and I did our own unofficial site visits to many spaots. We just went over to the resorts walked around found the rooms and went in and took a quick look just to have an idea at what we liked. We went to the pavillion, the GF convention center, the yact club convention center, the gazebo, sea breeze point, and ariels (which was open because there happened to have been a wedding in there earlier and they were cleaning up...that place was beautiful but doesn't go w/ our theme) So grab a camera and put aside a day to visit sites!

My sister plans to get married at the end of May/beginning of June next year. My sister and mom called today, since my parents will be going down to WDW next month, and they are supposed to get a call back between anytime now to next Wednesday to get things started and to set up a time for our parents to do the site visit. My parents offered to do this, since my sister and her fdh has no time to make a visit before the wedding. Don't know if this helps or not.
