I'm not sure if you will have left by now, but in case anyone else was looking at this thread, here are some things I wish I had taken to my planning session with my planner:
I took with me:
picture of my dress to give them idea of shape, style
close-up photo of dress material to give idea of colour
a camera to take a pic of your cake tasting. Your family and friends will be SO jealous!
I should have taken too:
ripped out pictures from magazines for what style of flowers I liked
I wish I'd made a list for myself of flowers I like and don't like (I am not good with the names of them)
I should have brought my guest list
Details of any unusual people's food preferences (one vegetarian, two children)
I should have printed out the exact menu I wanted for my reception - we had to try and remember in the meeting what we wanted
I should have taken notes on what music we wanted where
The last thing that I would definitely take if I did it again, would be a notepad and pen and I would use them all the time. I took notebook and pen, but didn't really use them as my planner was making notes she will send to me- but that was two weeks ago and I want to get started on the stuff we had to do, and I'm not sure I remember all of it!
I'm glad that I had read some of the ideas on this board before I went. Because of you guys here on these boards we have asked to have frozen strawberry daiquiris served to all our guests!
At the end of the meeting, I was sooooo impressed with our planner and with the wonderful Disney florist we met with. Even though we had brought nothing with us really they eased us through every question.
It's a great thing to do, and made us feel really confident about the competency of the people in charge of our wedding. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
Miranda
