Planning Question from UK to USA

quick question - has anyone from the UK (and other parts of the world) had a custom without going over and having a planning session or seeing anything?

I planned & booked a custom wedding but went back to an intimate in the end.
I didn't go over beforehand. I did it all by using this wonderful board for ideas.
I had a fair idea of what I wanted and found all my answers here or on the weddings wishbook, along with the help of my EM.
We had a fantastic day.

Im planning a custom and had no intention of going over for a planning visit. Although i am going over now, more for a holiday than anything else i have so much information from these boards and from my wedding planner that it would have been fine to not have one.

This board is great as everyone else has pictures of most things and share their experiences aswell which makes it so much easier to plan.

i love this site for all the info - just a bit worried about not going to see it all before hand - trying to get a house together and know that a florida trip just isnt on the cards unless my lottery numbers come up!

Thanks - just got the DFTW DVD through today so bit clearer now on some things - i know how they really look now lol
