We are planning our second trip this summer. I am hoping to rent DVC points from David's Vacation Club. Since we are a family of five, we need at least a one-bedroom in most places, a 2-bedroom in others. So we are debating about Animal Kingdom Lodge. Last time we stayed at Old Key West, but we thought the kids might enjoy AKL, especially my oldest who is a huge animal lover. Any tips/advice on staying there? I was told it's the furthest from all the parks. Does that become an issue? We will probably spend the most time at Magic Kingdom, as my girls are 7, 8 and 10.

Also, does anyone know much about trip insurance? The points rental is non-refundable and so I want to make sure if we should have an emergency and not be able to go that we don't lose all the money for the rental. But the policies we've been looking at online seem to be much more involved than that, covering things like evacuation, medical expenses, etc.

Animal Kingdom Lodge is cool, so if you have a real animal lover and want to do a lot of animal kingdom, then stay there but it is very far, have to bus everywhere--so if you're planning to do mostly magic kingdom, I would book a hotel in that area. Bay Lake Tower, Wilderness Lodge, Grand Floridian.

Have fun!
