Planning Our Happily Ever After - A Disneymoon PTR! (NEW 7/13 - TR Link!)

I need to try a cinnamon roll! I love cinnamon rolls. :cloud9: I've heard the one's at MSB are wonderful. And, I love tuna too - I should try the anchors aweigh. I've heard great things about it too. Although, doesn't it have hummus? That's one food I can't handle.

There is a different sandwich that has hummus- I think it is the Lighthouse. Hmm, I may have the names mixed up. But there is definitely no hummus on the yummy tuna sandwich! Sorry for being all confusing! :rotfl:

woo hoo... 9 months til our honeymoons!! :lovestruc

those snacks all look great ... I 'found' the Disney Food Blog recently and I love reading it! A lot of Disney websites are blocked at my office (it comes up "Access Denied, Reason: Entertainment" :confused3 lol) but luckily the Food blog isn't .. loved all their photos of La Hacienda grand opening last week! :thumbsup2

My favourite WDW snacks..

Dole Whip
Kaki Gori (shaved rainbow ice - Japan pavillion)
Mickey bar
Cookies
Popcorn
Taffy (this is more of a post-trip snack.. reminds me of being in the World!)

Hope wedding & disneymoon plans are all going great for you two :cloud9:

I haven't forgotten you...I just haven't been on DIS in weeks (have I been kicked out yet?) Just have to say that the dessert pics are drool worthy...I just can't believe how many of them I've never had!

I was the one confused! In that case, I'll definitely have to give the anchors aweigh a try!

I can't believe I forgot to put the taffy on my list! I like the Goofy taffy that comes in the yellow bag. Is that the one you get? That could be the only kind! I bought a huge bag of that stuff in January! :thumbsup2

Hey! :goodvibes I was just thinking about you! You most certainly haven't been kicked out!

I find it hard to believe that after all of my Disney trips there are still so many board favorite foods that I haven't tried! :sad2:

I have never had a Dole Whip either! I am excited to try one this time around! My DH does not like pineapple, so we never tried it on our disneymoon. My mother loves pineapple so I am excited to be able to have someone to share it with this trip :goodvibes

Your food list sounds yummy! I have not had many of the things on your list and I know this trip (in 24 days!!!!!) is going to fix all that :)

Looking forward to hearing more about the wedding and disneymoon planning!!!

oh- this past weekend I made some tip envelopes! When I take a pic and put em on my comp I will have to upload them to you here! made them for our mousekeeping. They are so cute! :)

You'll have to let me know what you think about the dole whip and what kind you try! :goodvibes

Definitely post a pic of your tip envelopes! I love seeing the different crafty things that DISers make!

I love your list of foods you're looking forward to! One thing I tried last trip and loved was the Tye-Dye Cheesecake at Pop Century. I wish you could get it other places, since you're not staying there. :headache:

Great food list! I can't wait to try Ohana, I'm so excited about the dessert there that you have a picture of, it looks amazing!!! :) I also LOVE turkey legs, only in Disney is it ok to walk around and be gnawing on a giant turkey leg! :cool1: :rotfl:

And I went to breakfast at CP in May, and I missed this infamous puffed french toast!

The tye-dye cheesecake looks like so much fun! I had just the regular cheesecake at AKL last time and it was seriously one of the best desserts I had all week! I'll definitely be getting some cheesecake somewhere! :thumbsup2

I'm so glad I'm not the only one that likes the turkey legs! It's definitely entertaining walking around with the thing! :lmao:

OMG I love the turkey legs! It all started from a trip my family and I took when I was a kid, my dad got one and my sister and I tried it and ended up eating the whole thing! Ever since then, I've loved them! :cool1:

I can not figure out how to add pictures :( i click the "insert image" but it wants a url and i just have my picture in folders.... Help?!?!

still can not figure it out :( I guess I need my computer savvy DH to help me figure it all out! haha :confused3
each time i try to add the url to insert image it comes up as a little box with a red x :(

 I haven't had one on our past 2 trips so I'm anxious for another one!

To post a picture, you have to have your pictures on an online photo sharing website (like photobucket or flikr). Do you have one of those? If not, they are really easy to set up, and you just upload pictures from your computer to your online album. From there, the picture will have an IMG code, which you just copy and then paste into your post. :thumbsup2 I use PB, by the way. :goodvibes

FOOD BUDGET

I’m keeping on the topic of food here! :lmao:

As I mentioned, we won’t be doing the DDP on our November trip since we have a room only reservation. I really hate that we’re having to give up the DDP. After our January trip, I said I would never go to Disney without it again! I love how convienient it is, and and it did save us money. Another thing I really loved about the DDP was how easy it made budgeting for food. So, since we’re going DDP-less, I figured another spreadsheet would be appropriate - I definitely want to go into the trip knowing how much money we need to be prepared to spend on food! Here’s my November food budget spreadsheet!

9a13e061.png

Just to explain a little: I’ve listed every meal we’ll be having, the approximate total of the meal based off of the menus on allears, an approximate tip amount based on 20% of the total, total cost of the meal, tables in wonderland discount, and total with the tables in wonderland discount. I also totaled everything up a the bottom to show the overall cost and discounts. We are still undecided on tables in wonderland. The card is (I believe) $75. Obviously, you can see we won’t come out ahead on this trip, but of course we still have the disneymoon to think about! However, I am definitely planning on the DDP for the disneymoon, so again, would the card really be worth it? If you have one, I would really appreciate your opinions!

Also, you’ll see I’ve got La Hacienda on the spreadsheet! I decided to go ahead and drop Chefs in exchange for La Hacienda. I was mistaken when I thought you couldn’t start making ADR’s until the 16th of October. You can make them now, just for a date after October 16! I was very happy when I played around and found I could go ahead and make the ADR! I selected a 7:00 time, which I think will put us a little too early to enjoy Illuminations in the restaurant - I believe Illuminations starts at 9:30 that night. I was a little worried about just what our view might be like, and if there is outdoor seating at all (or if that just belongs to the CS place). Since this will be our only night to watch Illuminations on the trip, I wanted to make sure we would be able to see it from a great spot, getting the full effect, and I just wasn’t sure if that could be done inside the restaurant. :confused3

So there’s our budget! Let’s hope we can stick to it!

Oh good! I'm glad you were able to get that ADR. I can't wait to hear what you thought about it.

You're smart to go ahead and budget like that. That way you know about what you'll be spending. I agree with you though, the DDP makes it so much easier!

my DH just told me he set up a flickr account today. so i guess I will be uploading pictures to there and using that! lol

Thankyou!!!

i set me "avatar" as the mousekeeping envelopes i made... just so you know!

Love your spreadsheet! I'm a little obsessed with spreadsheets and planning so I can really appreciate your effort! :thumbsup2

I'm so glad to see it's not just me that does spreadsheets and calculations for Disney dining! ;) I think it's important to do though for the TiW card :thumbsup2 - DF & I won't be doing the dining plan for either trip, so for us it makes sense as it'll pay for itself.

The TiW card can also be used in various lounges/bars and CS locations.. do you think you'd be using any of those this trip or for honeymoon? :goodvibes

The thing about the TiW card that would be especially handy on your honeymoon is you can use it on alcohol and appetizers. As long as you think you'll be ordering more than $50 worth of alcohol and appetizers on your honeymoon, I'd say go for the TiW card! Also, since it is your honeymoon are you planning on making more ADR's than what the DDP comes with? You could use it for those meals as well. :thumbsup2

Love the spreadsheet, I did something similar. Right now, I have all of the separate categories for spending money in envelopes and I am filling them with cash as we go along. What I think I am going to do is make a list each day of what places we are eating at and what snacks I feel we might eat and take that much money with us each day. That way we won't be carrying around lots of cash and also won't be tempted to spend more than we have allotted. Right now, we only need $161 more dollars for the trip and half of that is the luggage fee-the other half is for snacks/drinks! I'm hoping we'll end up bringing around $50 more than that to have in case we decide to go to the movies and I also want to buy a few tabloid magazines for the flights.

Hmmm, we've never considered the TIW card, so I don't know much about it. However, I can't see it really paying off on your honeymoon unless you planned to drink a lot. We also love the structure of the DDP, but since your Nov trip is so short, you'll be fine. Definitely a good idea to plan out how much you think you'll spend now!

Wait...are you getting an AP? (I missed a lot in my absence). If you booked a room with an AP rate you CAN get the DDP.
