Hi, I'm fairly new. I'll be taking my son to Disney World in late September. First trip for either of us! :goodvibes

I can use any and all suggestions.

:dance3:Congrates on your trip!!

The Best advice I can give is "stop and smell the roses" Don't always be in a rush. Enjoy the little moments on your trip! :)

 I'm so excited for you! I love it when I hear it's someone's first trip! There is so much advice that you will find when you sift through all these threads. The most important advice I can give is to just enjoy the magic. It's not possible to see, ride, and eat every single thing, so just make a list of the must dos and let everything fall into place. In my experience, planning every single detail takes away from the fun!

Thank you! Not looking forward to the 18 hour plus bus ride because I'm sure we'll both be too excited to sleep (to sort of quote the old commercial).

That's awesome!!! I hope you enjoy your first trip to the place where dreams come true!

My advice is to be a morning person when it comes to the parks. Get there for when they open to get shorter lines, but yes, do take it easy. Make it a stroll, not a brisk walk. There's a lot to just visually take in and appreciate.

Hope you have a great trip! I agree, you need to take it easy. If you get to the parks for opening you should be able to get a lot done and have time for quiet time at the hotel/swim time. Our kids really benefit from having a nice break in the day and not pushing them too hard.

How old is your son? If he is a toddler you can rent strollers offsite and it will be delivered to your hotel, instead of paying the higher price of renting a disney stroller. Our kids were 4 and 6 for the last trip and they both used the stroller when they were tired.

My son is seven. Great advice about the mornings. Food and drink will be our normal challenge since I am lactose intolerant and my son has a gluten allergy. I have to think that DW is accomodating to special diets. :goodvibes

Congrats of your first trip! Are you going to MNSSHP at all? We will be there late September as well, and are trying this for the first time! Also, they have the Pirates League at MK, which would be perfect for your son's age. Have a great trip!

Have fun and as said before, stop and smell the roses. We are morning people and get up and to the parks for rope drops, shorter lines. We take a mid day break and return in the AM. Staying on site is wonderful as are park hopper tickets.
