Hello everyone! I am soooo excited, we are planning our first trip to DL in 2012. We have been to the world many, many times in Orlando but thrilled to be coming to DL! The plan is for us to come around Memorial Day. We plan to not rent a car and only do DL. How many days do you suggest to see both parks? What are the hours of the parks that time of year? I suspect it will be crowded...

We were thinking of staying at DLR and we are not traveling with kids.

Any tips, suggestions or insight would be appreciated!!!!

Hours will likely be 8am - midnight at DL. 9:30am - ?? at DCA. (But if you're staying onsite, you'll want to go to MM each day it's offered).

You'll need 4 days min. 5 days would be better. & this isn't WDW.....Plan on Park Hopping each & every day. :)

Since you are a WDW veteran, then here is your primer.....a must read!!:

HydroGuy's "DLR for the WDW veteran tip thread". http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1162599

Also, lots of good info for the WDW vet in Mary Jo's tip thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=802084

Then read the rest of Hydroguy's Tip Threads. :cool2: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1520483

After doing some reading & research.....come back here & ask away. Have a great time planning a visit to Walt's Park. :thumbsup2

:)

Thank you for the GREAT info! I'm going to get a cup of tea and start reading! :cool1:

We were thinking of 5 nights but our flight gets in late on the first day so we were thinking of going to DTD and getting the lay of the land. Is it worth doing the first night or should we go into the parks?

You can do the majority of the adult rides and attractions in less than 5 days. The extra time can be spent enjoying the hotel and restaurants. Get a World of Color dining package. Explore Downtown Disney on the first night, and stay away from the parks. It is a lot smaller than WDW, so it is extremely easy to hop. Have fun.
