How would you design a 10 day trip that begins in Orlando and ends in Miami?

The middle is being spent at The Poly but I have 2 nights at the beginning we didn't get the good rate on at the Poly and 2 nights at the end in Miami. I'm undecided on where to go for the nights on the ends. Do I stay somewhere else on WDW property and make a contribution towards my quest to stay at every single resort at least once, drive our rental over to Universal and take our chances with the lines for a day visit? Do I go to the Portofino and pay $$$ to get the room keys they give me early entry and front of the line privileges (might be worth it I don't know how crowded it will be)? As for Miami, I have no idea what to do about that. I had an idea in my head about the place but after looking at some travel guides it seems geared for clubbing, not families. Do I go with the majority of DH's family (including his Aunt who I despise) and stay at a boutique hotel they got a great deal at or pay big $ to avoid the family nonsense and hole ourselves up at the resort SIL is getting married at?

This is stressing me, DH doesn't care and tells me whatever I want will be fine. Trouble is I don't know what I want so help with opinions would be welcome. BTW, I am still in sticker shock over the cost to pick up the rental car in Universal and drop if off in Miami.

Keep working on the car rental. Sometimes coupons pop up and you can apply them, or the car rental will open up a few cars that need to be moved out of Orlando. We had a Dodge Liberty that we picked up in Savannah and dropped off at WDW and I shaved off almost $100 by the time I picked it up.

Look up WikiWaki Mermaids, stay in the area and see the show! Or do Universal two days/nights. I think Miami also has some kind of dolphin meet/swim thing around there.

Oh Mari, I will, thanks.

FredinFL, is that Miami you are talking about because I can't find it. It would be nice to find something to do during the afternoon before the rehearsal dinner
