Ok I would like some imput on favorite places to eat or food not to miss out on. Also which places should I do reservations for? (last week of April)
It's me & my husband and 5 year old but will do a dinner out with just me & him while grandparents babysit. I was considering Blue Bayou or Catal. Thanx

Favorite meal out with spouse only  Chef's Counter at Napa Rose

Favorite breakfast, and favorite charachter breakfastpirate: Surf's Up at PCH Grill (though I have not tried Goofy's yet)

favorite lunch or quick meal:banana: Carnation Cafe (we do brunch because we love their breakfast food - usually book a 10:30 seating); Corn Dog; Taste Pilots Grill

favorite dinner or charachter dinner:love: Blue Bayou. My boys LOVE that place. I think it's being in the pirates ride as well as the pirate hat menus. Also like Cafe Orleans

favorite snackpopcorn:: Dole Whip, Churro

I agree with the Dole whip! I've been to DL many times, and the trip's just not complete without one. :)

On a hot day, a Disneyfied mint julep (non-alcoholic) at the Mint Julep Bar in New Orleans Square is great and quick. (It's window-service, located right next to the New Orleans Square Station of the Disneyland Railroad. They also have yummy fritters with apple dipping sauce.

I agree that the Blue Bayou is awesome. Something about sitting nestled right by the Pirates ride is just so cool.

For a quick meal, my family always loved Bengal Barbeque growing up. The chicken skewer in sweet sauce and the bacon-wrapped asparagus skewer were our favorites. And tiger tails (breadsticks)!

Favorite meal out with spouse only: Anything at Blue Bayou

Favorite breakfast, and favorite charachter breakfast: Waffles from Storytellers Cafe (off the menu)

favorite lunch or quick meal: Burger from Hungry Bear

favorite dinner or charachter dinner: Turkey Leg on a bench near castle durring fireworks (dinner and a show)

favorite snack: Corn Dog :thumbsup2

Ok...DH and I don't eat out just the 2 of us while on vacation with our son. Maybe it's different for us since we are a family of only 3 but while we are on a family vacation, we like to spend our entire vacation together.:goodvibes Also, since it's just the 3 of us, we don't have a babysitter, so that makes it difficult. As a family, our favorite restaurant is Rancho del Zocalo. It wins our vote mainly for the awesome atmosphere and quiet locale. The food is Azteca-ish....we've definately had better outside the parks.

We don't eat breakfast out. I always bake muffins and we make a quick stop at the store for other items. The one and only time we did splurge was at Carnation Cafe for breakfast. DS thought it was ok, he was upset they didn't have Mickey pancakes only waffles. DH and I thought it was definately NOT worth the price. We look forward to trying it for lunch or dinner here on this trip.

Our favorite lunch/quick meal has to be the corn dogs from the cart on Main St. We all LOVE them!

Our favorite snack is the Tigger Tails. DS LOVES these and I have to admit, DH and I are a little in love ourselves.

Our favorite quick service meals are Pizza Port in Tomorrowland, Boudin Bakery in the Wharf Area at CA, and burritos from the mexican walk up window in DT disney.

Our favorite Character Meal is Goofy's Kitchen. Kids love it.

Our favorite snack: Cookies from the shop back by Winnie the Pooh or at the store in CA.

Haven't gotten to do dinner with just the hubs on any of our trips so I'm not sure about that one.

Favorite meal out with spouse only steakhouse at DLH (sorry forgot the name)

Favorite breakfast, and favorite charachter Goofy's Kitchen

favorite lunch or quick meal Hungry Bear

favorite dinner or charachter dinner Blue Bayou

favorite snack ice cream sundae from Main Street Cone Shop

I go with my DH so our trips are adult-oriented, but much translates well to your family of three. :)

Favorite meal out with spouse only: 1st choice Napa Rose, 2nd choice Blue Bayou

Favorite breakfast: River Belle Terrace, on the patio overlooking the Rivers of America, New Orleans Square and parts of Frontierland. Mickey pancakes are sold here if you go early, it is one of the most beautiful places to sit, relax and soak in the magic of Disneyland.

favorite lunch or quick meal - Barbecue or broccoli cheddar baked potatoes at the Troubadour Tavern (adjacent to the Princess Fantasy Faire area, near It's A Small World). For a sit-down lunch, we love the Carnation Cafe.

favorite dinner: Toss-up between Plaza Inn (their chicken dinner serves a 1/2 chicken and feeds two normal eaters - big savings in money "tip" here) and Rancho Del Zocalo. Rancho gets big points for night-time dining under the canopies and pretty Mexican lighting and soothing classical guitar pieces like the Recuerdos de la Alhambra.

favorite snack: Two scoops of ice cream (chocolate and mocha almond fudge) in a waffle cup. Tip: Afternoons are busy at the Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor. Before getting in line, check the ice cream window next to the locker station across the street. The lines are very short there and the menu is exactly the same.

Thanks everyone, I think I will for sure try Blue Bayou, Goofy's Kitchen (ate there about 20 years ago and really enjoyed it) & Carnation Cafe. Should I get ressies for all these? How far out?

Anyone ever try Catal or Uva bar? It lookes really good to me.

favorite snack corn dog, chimichanga, and Churros.

Favourite character breakfast: Storytellers Cafe, for the super-fresh Mickey-head waffles and pancakes!

Favourite other breakfast: La Brea Cafe (DTD) - for the days where you are up early and have time to kill before security opens :lmao:

Favourite lunch: the big turkey sandwiches, with beans, at Riverbelle Terrace. Minus the pickle (I hate pickles).

Favourite dinner: Rainforest Cafe - I could have just eaten the onion rings, they were AMAZING! Didn't even get to try the volcano dessert, was too full.
