I've asked a few golf questions here before, and I'm afraid I need to ask a few more questions. I'm a non-golfer planning a golf trip for my mom and her SO, so I need a little help.

It looks like our trip is during the switch over from normal golf season to peak season, so I'll be able to book half their tee times 90 days in advance and half only a couple of weeks in advance. They are hoping to play a different course every day for four days... then I guess they'll have to repeat something.

Which courses are more popular and have tee times that are more likely to fill up first? (I'll book those first with the 90 day window.)

Am I right in understanding that I can go ahead and book her as a DVC Golf member although she doesn't have the Golf membership yet (since she is planning to buy it at the pro shop right before her first game)? Will I need a credit card to book their tee times, and, assuming so, will it be charged now or when they play?

Credit card is needed to book times; not charged until day of (and then not actually charged because you pay via cash or credit card when you arrive so she can use her own credit card); need to cancel 48 hours in advance to avoid charge; exception: if bad weather day of tee time, you can cancel and not be charged.

You can reserve times before going and before getting DVC golf card which you buy when you first show up at a pro shop.

For time of year you are going (latter part of Jan), it usually is not difficult to get tee time close to time you want by calling 14 days out . May not get exact course you want on any particular day unless your flexibility on tee time is an hour either way. Weekends and holidays book up more than weekdays because many local residents play the courses. As to popularity: Magnolia and Osprey have the highest demand (so you might want to do those with the 90 day window), followed closely by Lake Buena Vista, and Palm has the lowest demand (even though personally I think it is Disney's second best course behind Osprey)

Note, I assume she is a DVC member since only a member can purchase the DVC golf card.

Yes, she is a DVC member, so she won't have any trouble getting the DVC Golf membership.

I'll go ahead and get Magnolia and Osprey booked.

Thanks!

I strongly agree with the opinion that Palm is the second best course on property. I like it much better than Magnolia. Now if they could only do something about the noise created on the golf course by the Richard Petty Experience it would be perfect!
