Hi everyone! I'm trying to get some info. to help with the planning of our trip next year with our friends. We our new DVC members having just purchased last year. :flower3: So bear with me please and I am sorry if these questions have been addressed before.

We are looking tentatively at May 3 thru May 10 (Sun.- Sat.) 2009. There will be 10 of us: 4 adults and 6 kids ages 5-12. We would LOVE a Grand Villa but we won't have enough points to stay at our home resort of SSR for that many days. I'll be be banking and borrowing as it is. (I know the simple answer is just to buy more points!) So here goes:

1. Is it possible to get a Grand Villa at OKW in May at 7 months out? I know pure speculation, but.....;)

2. Our second choice would be to get a 2-BR plus a studio at VWL. I have been trying to research this and it seems like the 2-BR units there are lock-offs- a 1-BR plus a studio. Are there any dedicated 2-BR at VWL? Could they even do a configuration of a 2-BR plus a studio?

3. We would like to have connecting rooms if we aren't able to get a grand villa. Is this an option at all of the resorts?

Those are a few of the questions I'm trying to sort out right now. I'm sure there will be more!!:rotfl:

Thank you so much for your help in advance! I'm finding a wealth of info. on these boards and my laundry is suffering b/c of it!;)

#2. There are dedicated 2 bedrooms at VWL. These have 2 Q's in the second bedroom. You can book an additional studio, and request it be near the 2 bedroom, but the studio and the 2 bedroom do not connect internally. In October, we had a 2 bedroom dedicated and a studio at VWL and they were very near each other.

3. Only a lock off studio and 1 bedroom connect to make a lock off 2 bedroom. There are no internally connecting studios.

Have fun planning! We already have our tentative plans for May '09 as well!!

would think you have an excellent chance of a GV in May at OKW at 7 months.

if not - you might still consider OKW - there 2-bedroom is that much bigger than the other resort - if you want to meet with everyone before leaving to the parks - then the livingroom at OKW could be really handed.

unless you are traveling with kids - would go with BCV or BWV - before VWL. Now I do love VWL - but walking to the parks, which you can do with bcv or bwv, beats taking the boat or bus to the parks.

since you are bringing friends.

I would give the GV at OKW a try day by day at the 7 month booking window. If you call the first day and it's available, ask them HOW available it is for the rest of the stay and then call day by day to add on to the ressie . The worst part of that tactic is that you could end up with a missing day in the middle. If that happens though, you could switch to a 2 bedroom plus a studio and still be fine. I doubt you would have trouble getting a 2 bedroom and a studio at OKW during May. We were there last May, and the resort did not seem full.

Thank you for all of the answers!!! They have been very helpful!!:goodvibes :goodvibes

spiceycat....we are going to be traveling with kids, and will probably be spending a good amount of time at MK. We thought the boat would make it nice to get there. My husband and I are going by ourselves for a quick trip in June and are staying at the BWV. Can't wait to check it out as I've never stayed there before! Looking forward to getting to check out some of the nightlife there!:thumbsup2

It's good to know that there are no internally connecting studios with the 2-BR. Hmmm.....maybe my friend and I will share the studio, and give our husbands the 2-BR with the 6 kids!!;) :rotfl2: Now that would be a relaxing vacation!:thumbsup2

Thanks to reading these boards, I found out what day-to-day booking was and how to do it. I would have never known it was a possibility if it hadn't been for the DIS!:disrocks:

Hello from NEPA! That's where I am from.

I have not stayed in a GV but they all look beautiful & spacious!

:wave2: Hello! What part of (snowy;)) NEPA are you from? We are currently living just outside of Nicholson.

I can only imagine how big the Grand Villas really are. We've stayed at a 1-BR at OKW and it was bigger than my first apartment. I have a feeling the GV could be bigger than my house!:rotfl:

It would be great to all stay together. So my fingers are crossed for that GV. I'm almost wishing Oct. would get here so I could make my ressies!!

:wave2: I'm said friend. ;) This is great info. :thanks: I love that the 1 bedroom at the OKW was bigger than your first place. :rotfl2: Doesn't the GV at the OKW have over 2,000 sq feet? That's almost bigger than my last house. :thumbsup2

Grand Villas at OKW are 2265 square feet!! :lovestruc
