Hi,
Finally I find myself in the position where we are starting to talk about our next trip to WDW :woohoo:(we were last there as a couple on our honeymoon in Sept 2004 and plan to return again in March-April 2014 with our two lovely children, who will be 6 and 3).
I can't believe when we go back it would have been almost 10 years!!!

Anyway, with 24 months to go (OMG! That's far too long to wait!:sad1:) I think it's time to start saving up! :scared1:

How much should I be looking at saving?

We hope to stay self catering, probably an apartment on I Drive, for 3 weeks.
2 adults and 2 kids (with my parents staying in a separate apartment).

We don't want to hire a car so would rely on transfers from airport to accomodation, and shuttles to and from the parks.
Would be purchasing a 14 day Disney pass, and a Flex Pass for Universal etc.

I am thinking somewhere in the region of £6000 for the 4 of us.
Am I on planet earth or cuckoo land with this figure?

Any thoughts/comments greatly appreciated.
Thanks peeps.
xx

Im right with you on this one hun, we too plan to go back in 2014 and putting little aside We have saved in I drive twice 09 and 11 and although the free transport to parks is good but your stuck to a specific time etc but they are free!!! We spent fortune eating at Disney so we want use the DDP next time we go definatly will be Disney hotel. The I drive hotels are cheaper than Disney though too.
Happy Planning

We've done hotel on I-Drive (but Universal not Disney) several times and budget £1000 per person all-in for 10-12 days. You'll need a couple of hundred more as you're doing Disney.

Is there any reasons you don't want a car? It really will make your trip more enjoyable especially as you are staying offsite with small children who don't necessary run to the same schedules as shuttle buses. Driving in Florida is easier than driving over here!

The other thing with a car it will open up more possibilities for accommodation and eating!

Flights are probably around £500 per person if you not going over Easter. Hotel can be anywhere from £30 per night up depending where you choose. Then you need tickets & spends.

Might be worth keeping an eye on the Disney deals too to stay onsite.

I'm another one saving for 2014 (either May or October, it depends on a family member who will hopefully be doing a year in EPCOT and may not still be there in the October, but that is our preferred time to travel, with may our second choice.)

I'm saving around £120/month which should give me around £3k, to cover our flights, park tickets and hotel. I'm hoping we can get flights for £500/each.

We're going to stay for 2-3 weeks at AKV and if we can we'll do a split stay to have a few nights at the new Floridian villas, but I'm not getting my hopes up on there being availibility.

Then closer to the time we'll worry about spending money etc.
