Planning for FP+ (I don't have the foggiest idea)

I'm jealous, I didn't get one. ;)

In reality, custom thumb drives cost very little, as do the Magic Bands themselves. Even shipping is a small expense compared to the income received from cash rooms. Ticket prices aren't going to drop, tourism is up. And as long as DVC dues aren't dinged for these charges I see no problem.

There are a lot of people, especially cash guests, that like all the "warm fuzzies" stuff before their trip.

Sorry, Chuck.:grouphug: I just thought it would've been money better spent for it to have arrived BEFORE my November 18th eligibility date when it would've been something to look forward to. Arriving a week later is sort of "why bother" IMO since it was pushing the "get online & sign up" bit which I had already done. It was a lot of elaborate customized packaging & marketing propaganda that I know wasn't cheap to produce. I realize the thumb drive was probably the cheapest aspect....:)

I will get my warm fuzzies when we GET THERE and have no glitches with our Magic Bands!!:rotfl:

I was on the phone with Disney today asking questions on the bands and FP+. The CM said that we can pull regular FP along with the FP+.

As with all conversations with CMs, you mileage may vary...

You also have another issue we noticed when there recently. The Fastpasses at the park run out for the popular rides much earlier than they used too during the same time last year. in other words, the number of park FP's being issued for any particular ride or time is being limited by already issued FP+ for the same ride and time. For a day we were at Epcot, the park FP's for Soarin were gone for the entire day by 10:30 and this is for a day in November that is not a holiday or high crowd park season.

There are some obvious glitches that need to be worked out in marketing. I customized my Magic Band as soon as I noticed the option on MDE. The same day my band arrived, I received snail mail and email telling me about Magic Bands and that I could customize it. LOL So yes, they are a bit behind on the timeframe.

I've also read that the reg. FP's for TSM in HS are often gone for the day by 9:30. This is why we decided to schedule our FP+ for our 2nd park of the day as we figured that there would be none left for anything by afternoon.

2) If a ride shuts down, your FP+ will not be honored later for that ride. You will be given a paper "any ride" fast pass. I was loaded in BTMRR, safety bar down waiting for dispatch when the ride halted and was evacuated. I did use the "any ride" FP for BTMRR later in the day.

Adding to this: The Fpass you get when your scheduled ride is out of service is for any ride at any time of the day for the particular day it is issued. Moreover, as we learned when we arrived at Test Track for our time and it was already shut down, the unlimited FP issued will actually be put on your magic bands in that situation and will show up in your My Disney Experience. In that situation they did not give us a paper FP.

Is it true that nobody will be getting keys to the world cards along with magic bands starting dec. 1? If that is the case we would not be able to get paper fast passes.

Any truths the rumor that people with magic bands will no longer get keys to the world cards as of dec 1? No paper fp.

They started with POP about 10 days ago. You can still get paper fast pass if your ticket is separate, like an annual pass. DVC members don't have packages where tickets are added automatically to KTTW.

I won't have an annual pass. I was going to order tickets online right from the mde site, but would this men no tangible ticket
. We re going the first of January and splitting our stay between OKW and ssr.

Order tickets from Undercover Tourist, you will get a discount and they will be separate. Or AAA or The Disney Store.

I just ordered from Disney online by hey can ship the hard tickets to you and once they arrive you can link the ticket to MDE or you can pick them up at will call when you arrive. If you do will call you will be provided with a confirmation #. Just use that to link your tickets. Either way you will get the hard ticket.
