Anyone started that far in advance yet? I am thinking of taking my mom and MIL with us this time and potentially leaving the kids with them for two days to do Universal. Can you start reservations that far in advance with the payment plan system?

Room rates aren't even out for that far in advance and deals don't normally come out until significantly closer. If you are trying to plan for savings purposes I'd look on line and price out your trip like you were going this year. Then I'd take that number and add 5-10% to it for inflation. Then I'd start a vacation club savings account at my local back and start making payments to it. That way you have an idea of what you need to save and are starting the process.

No, you can't book that far in advance. You will be able to book a package for 2014 in August of 2013. You can book a room only reservation at a Disney Resort, I beleive, 499 days out. But, unless you are absolutely sure that you will not be booking a package nor needing to purchase tickets from Disney, that would be a waste of your time and money. If you are are looking for specific discounts like the annual Fall Free Dining promo/discounts then you would have to be booked under a Magic Your Way package that includes room, tickets and dining plan to apply that kind of discount. Discounts are, generally released about 6 months out, but it can be anywhere from 3 months to a year out - it just depends.
