Planning DVC Retirement

We met a couple on this last trip who were also retired and staying the entire month and did some socializing with them. Also our disney friends met up with us and we did things with them. With all the people around disney, it is easy to socialize.:goodvibes

Socializing..nice it's like a Del Webb retirement community..

Perhaps with exchange change to II we will be able to do getaways (short notice for cash). Marriott has this and you can get a week for $250 and just keep moving week to week for the entire winter if available?

How difficult is it to book these long term trips thru DVC?? Do you have to call everyday during your 11/7 month window? Does that mean if you usually stay a your home resort and if so, are you calling to add days to your next year's stay while you are there??

This just sounds WONDERFUL!!!!!!!

Cool.

This is what I am hoping to do as well. We have 320 points, will be making our first DVC trip this summer and when DS13 graduates from high school in 5 years, I hope to be retired at age 49 and then we will see what happens. Need to buy 320 points per year for the next two years -- see how that fits into the financial planning...

(One can hope)

Oh, man, would I love to do something like this! :rotfl:

Disney's really missing an opportunity here....something like DVC, but meant for snowbirds or retirees who want to live there year round. On-property condos and small homes. Can you imagine how quickly it'd sell out?

Would that make it DRC? (Disney Retirement Club):lmao:

There will be the Four Seasons "fractional ownership" timeshare that is being built on Eagle Pines GC. From what I read, the "fractions" are much bigger for these units and you will need to purchase more like a 1/4 of a share...or three months!!!! :scared1: Should only set you back around $120,000 plus MF. No big deal!...:lmao: And don't forget Osprey ridge will be your PRIVATE golf course.:snooty:
BOB
a "lowly" DVCer

Four Seasons Fractional would be nice for a comfy retirement summer home, but the MF fees on some of these fractionals are 20,000 per year, that's a lot of maintenace.
