Planning December...Busy Time?

We are planning a December WDW trip (yeah ) I had some trouble securing a reservation. I did get a AKL room with a standard view (will call back and try to score a savannah view) using the Embrace the Magic code for 12/8-12/14. Couldn't get a savannah view even without the code...or a room at WL. Is something going on that week that I should know about ? We went two years ago the first week of December ...and it was GREAT Don't want to mess up this go 'round Thanks for any help...

I think your diffiulty had more to do with the CBR being closed for renovations. Hundreds with reservtions at that resort were relocated to resorts such as AKL and WL.
Historically, crowds appear to be very manageable during this time.

This is our favorite time of year to go! You get to see the Christmas decorations; and the crowds really are light! We'll be at BWI December 7-13! I think you've picked a great time to go!

My mom, dad, and two sisters went two years in a row in the beginning of December, and they claim the crowds were very light. They even said they were able to walk onto some of the rides. I will be joining them when we go Dec. 4-8th, and mom says this is the best time to go because it's not only great weather (cool and almost cold the last times they went) but the crowds are so much better to deal with. Now we will be going a few days before you, but the crowds should not be bad. We will be getting home the day you leave, so I will be happy to email you the 411 on the crowds and weather! Hope you have a great trip too-maybe our paths will cross on the 8th!!!

BTW-We are also staying at the AKL. We were not able to get a savannah room, but luck may smile upon us when we get there.
