planning Dec 2005 - which deluxe resort?

We just began planning for an early Dec 2005 trip with extended family so that we could soak up all the holiday spirit at WDW. We will stay at a deluxe resort since it's value season and my question is this --

I know all the resorts are decorated beautifully so I don't know if it's fair to ask which has the BEST decorations, but for those of you who have been there around Christmas, which resort would you choose?

I've been down to Disney during Christmas several times. I love the GF at that time. It is decorated so lovely.

But don't forget, choose the resort that BEST fits your needs not how it is decorated. You can always go and visit a resort to see the decorations but you have to stay at resort that will meet all your needs and those of your family.

I'm planning on the Poly next December with the family. Why? Because we will have two 16 year olds, an 8 and 5 year old (my neices and nephews) with us and I think the Poly is a wonderful resort for all of them. The twins always wanted to go to Hawaii and this is perfect (plus alot less than taking them there!!). The pool area, the game room, kids club and the access to the parks via the monroail will be perfect for them.

This year is myself and my cousin. We choose the GF because it is perfect for 2 adults looking to get away from everything and enjoy what the GF has to offer. We might do some spa treatments. It was a toss up between the GF and the Y&B Club and we decided to do the GF again.

We are still planning on going to the other resorts to look at the decorations.

I agree to pick the resort that suits your likes and your purse. You can always set aside time to visit them all and see the decorations. That being said, the least decorated in my opinion is the Contemporary. it never looks like Christmas to me. Yacht and Beach are lovely as is WL and AKL. Moderates are aslo nicely done. There are pictures on some of the sites of the holiday decorations, I believe. My family will be at WL God willing......

Same here, I agree to choose the deluxe based on your personal tastes.
I read on another thread that the WL has beasutiful decorating. We haven't seen the WL during December yet. the GF sincerely is just magical looking at Christmas-time! I didn't know that house they have in the lobby was REAL gingerbread! Darn it all. Wish I had gone in! CR was okay enough, Poly was fine but seriously, I felt you could miss much of the decroations if you weren't looking for them to notice they would be different form the norm. Just my OPINION okay. No flaming please!

Nice to find someone else with a countdown close as big in numbers as me! Seems like forever! Ooo, ooooo....it's below 400 now!!!!
