We went to disney world last year and it was great. We were planning another trip this year when we got the call from our case worker about a 3 yo boy who entered foster care but would most likely be adopted out and we took him, next month we go to court to see if the judge will terminate his parents rights and let us adopt him. He is very delayed, probably somewhere between 18-24 months across the board. Should we go ahead and plan our trip again this year or wait until he is a bit older and more settled? Also, if we go, any suggestions for taking young children to disney?
Thanks
Lora

Oh, that's so nice, I really would love to be a foster parent myself.:goodvibes I would think as long as he is doing ok and is adjusted well to take him. I'm sure he would have fun.
If you do decide to go let him watch the Disney channel, and Disney movies to get familiar with the characters.
And set up a more relaxing plan, with alot of time off to just rest, play in the pool, I know the pool is my kids favorite. Good Luck with what you decide about disney and your foster son:grouphug:

He seems to be adjusting well. He came to us in a full body cast after spending several weeks in the hospital to heal life threatening injuries. His cast came off right before Christmas and he has since relearned to walk. His speech and social skills are extremely delayed since he spent the majority of his life isolated in a room with only a few spongebob videos to watch. He also is still potty training, which could be a pain if thats still the case when we go. He does throw temper tantrums when he doesnt get his way, which I am told is pretty normal for a toddler. I am kinda lost when it comes to the younger kids. We adopted all of our kids, our other two were 6 and 10 when we got them. I have never had a 3 yo and am kinda clueless on what vacationing with one might entail So any advice at all would be appreciated.
Thanks again
Lora
