Hi All!

Headed to VDH April 21-24 with my 10 YO son. Have not been to Disneyland in a while. Would love some tips on anything I should think about reserving ahead of time. what are the things I must check out? Also, any good tips on how to plan the day with rides would be helpful.

Blue Bayou would be fun with a 10 year old. It is pricey but a cool experience eating inside Pirates of the Caribbean. Unfortunately reservations book quickly. Disney makes it difficult to book tables for two and I don't see any reservations available for two at Blue Bayou April 21-24. However, if I search for a table for three, there are reservations on both April 21 as well as April 23. If you choose a reservation when the restaurant opens (11 am), you can try to request a table on the waterfront. If you book for a table of three, you can try to modify it down to two or just tell the restaurant when you arrive that one person couldn't make it.

It looks like Fantasmic will not be showing during the dates you are there. A Fantasmic dining package would have been my second recommendation. Have you looked at the World of Color viewing options?

Star Wars fan? Id book Ogas Cantina for sure.

We always do a hotel character breakfast or dinner on our non park day, either the day we arrive or the day we leave. Goofys Kitchen does breakfast and dinner. Storytellers is breakfast only for characters.

Most dining will already be booked up. Search every day especially close to your trip and openings will for sure pop up. I always book things and then reevaluate during our trip or right before and cancel what we decide not to do.

To get the most out of your day with rides you will likely need to buy LLMP. Staying on property you can take advantage of early entry, the park that offers it rotates so just check the schedule. Early entry will help you get on Rise of the Resistance at DL with less wait or buying LLSP and it will help you get on Radiator Springs Racers without buying LLSP.

Oh and Im pretty sure you have a Disney Visa, be sure to to do the Visa character meets at DL and DCA. DVC Y use your lounge benefits at DL in Star Wars launch bay... that lounge is AMAZING
