Hi. We are trying to choose ADRs for our April 2018 trip. We're staying at Pop with our 10 and 11 year old boys. We visited when they were 4 &5 but that was off property and they don't remember too much. We will be doing a TS each evening but have no idea what times are best for viewing Fantasmic, parades and fireworks. These are the restaurants we are thinking of:

Rose and Crown
Mama Melrose
Be our Guest
Yak & Yeti

Ohana
Boma
Maybe ESPN club (the boys are HUGE sports fans)

Any restaurant suggestions and dining times would be appreciated.

If you are planning on Mama Melrose (one of our favorites, BTW - totally under appreciated) and Fantasmic, you should look into the Fantasmic dining package so you can get preferred seating at Fantasmic. It usually requires you to eat "dinner" pretty early (like 4:00ish), but you can also do it for lunch.

And if you are looking at Yak and Yeti (another one we love), look into the Landry Select Club (Y&Y is a Landry restaurant). It costs $25 to join, but you get a $25 dining credit, as well as a $25 credit during your birthday month (which could certainly be listed as April, regardless of when it really is). Maybe the best thing about the Club is you don't need an ADR at Y&Y. Show up and show them your card, and you get put at the top of the waitlist. It's awesome! And so nice to not have to plan exactly when you want to eat there 6 months in advance!

Thank You!

If you can get a patio table at Rose and Crown, it's a great view of Illuminations. You probably want an ADR for around 7:30, but show up early to request the patio seat.
From Ohana you get a great view of the MK fireworks. Again, show up early to request a fireworks view.

If you are using Disney transportation, getting Resort-to-Resort can be time consuming. So those visits to Boma & Ohana may require a bit more consideration/planning.

ESPN is one of our 'underrated' places. We pass by most often when leaving Epcot while going back to our Resort and find the 'pub grub' to be better than expected. I'm partial to the nachos (even before a Signature meal - popcorn::). And it's a bit of a longer walk from Hollywood Studios.

Yes, by all means, Mama Melrose if you plan to enjoy the benefits of the Fantasmic! dining package. But you might also consider Sci-Fi because it's a very cool space (food - meh). Prime Time is also cool (but maybe not as cool for a younger generation) - but the food is better than Sci-Fi.

Be Our Guest for dinner is our preference because you can meet The Beast. Another strategy is to get here for breakfast before MK opens to get a jump on the Rope Drop crowd.

If you haven't already considered Tusker House in Animal Kingdom, I would highly recommend it. I've heard mixed reviews on Yak and Yeti, but have never been there personally. Tusker House has always been a favorite for my family and I. We've always found the food to be really good and there's options for everyone on the buffet. It's also a great experience for the whole family. The decor and theming is done really well including the characters in their safari uniforms and it is hands down one of the best character meals on Disney property! Definitely worth the experience! As far as timing goes for fireworks and shows like fantasmic, they typically tend to start around 8-9. As far as a dinner reservation goes, I would suggest getting a reservation that would allow you to be done eating by 7ish, or possibly a little later depending on the show time. That way you have time to get a place/seat for the show and don't feel so rushed!

Tusker house sounds great, and boys love donald Duck! We made a Tusker House/Rivers of light reservation.
Thank you!
