So October 5th is my husbands birthday, and October 8th Garth Brooks is going to Orlando (We are from Canada), and Orlando has Disney, and He LOVES both. So I thought I would plan a quick weekend getaway for just the 2 of us (without the kids...first time ever). However, that weekend there are NO rooms available, at least according to the website. Is it possible to get rooms if I called in or booked with a travel agent? Or is that weekend just a write off for staying in the parks (I really don't want to rent a condo or a vehicle...we did that last time, we want the FULL Disney experience!). Is there something going on that weekend besides Garth Brooks where its so full...?
(If this is in the wrong area, please let me know...lol I didn't know where to post).
Thanks for any insight, still a newbie... lol

The Food and Wine Festival is going on, so weekends are usually fully booked during this time.

Over on the DVC board, availability in studios and 1-bdrms are booked solid from mid-Sept till mid-Jan this year. If you were to find a DVC rental it would have to be for a 2 or 3-bdrm unit.
Along with F&W at EPCOT, MK has MNSSHP going on, and AK has the new night-time show. The week after F&W the holiday decorations go up at all the resorts and parks, the MVMCP start in Nov, and all the races continue into Jan. Very bad year to be planning a late reservation at any WDW resort.

you might get a room with a travel agent or call wDW directly - there are cancellations all the time. although weekends in Oct are hard to get,
