Okay, I am in need of some serious help! I am a huge dork. Actually, let me keep it simple - I just love all things Disney. I am getting married to someone who enjoys Disney, but doesn't love it. Anyway, she decided that she wants to get married there. This makes me happy because since I was a child, I have had dreams of getting married at Walt Disney World. Now, we are both Florida residents - I am not sure if that will play a role in the process but we are in just need of some help.

We know we dont want a huge ceremony. We just want one for a little get together, kinda thing. If anyone can help us, as we dont even know where to begin!

Thanks,

CHRIS!

Congratulations and Welcome Chris!

First place I would look is at the disney fairtale weddings website. Also, call DFTW too. (You can have them call you or get the number from the website.)

It sounds like you would like the escape wedding. It is for a smaller wedding of 18 guests or less. It is a package that comes with cake, champagne, limo, photography, etc. You will have to see the website for all the info. I know a lot of escape couples also have a dinner afterwards and some have a dessert parties. I would read some TR's or PJ's of escape couples to get some ideas. Also, when you talk to the Disney reps, you can ask them about this stuff too. Also, don't be afraid to ask anything here on the boards.

Again Congrats, and look forward to reading more about your wedding.

welcome to the boards & congrats on the future DFTW!!!

the above post gave you a great start...so after you look there...come on back here with all your questions!!!

We LOVE to help!!!

Congrats!!!

Well, I was messing around with the above website and begain making a Disney Weddings Wishbook. Everything is actually layed out infront of you and it is fairly simple to plan and get an idea as cost, etc...

We are leaning towards the escape packing. We are leading towards the Polynesian setting, with the castle in the background. The price is actually great, in my opinion. We did want to include characters; therefore, we added the extra enhancements and the price still isn't that bad.

Would you also suggest the Magic Kingdom Photography session? Do you believe it is worth the $800? I mean, I seen the lovely pictures, but I am just not sure. Don't pictures come with the package?

Also, we seen that we get annual passes, this leaves us to just choosing a hotel. Does it have to be the Polynesian, where the wedding is near? Or can we choose any?

Thanks - so much!

Congratulations and welcome! You've come to a great place to ask questions - everyone here loves to help!:goodvibes
You can stay at any Disney owned and operated resort - it doesn't have to be near the wedding site. Also, with the Escape package, you are required to spend a minimum of 4 nights.
Keep in mind that the ceremony site at the Poly can only be used if you have 10 ppl or fewer, whereas the other locations allow the 18 plus bride and groom. Also, it is only available certain times of year. Just a few things to consider!
Happy planning!!!!

We are not doing many add-ons, but this is one thing my fiance and I both agreed we had to have. It is expensive, but I think the pictures capture the whole essence of getting married in Disney World. What girl doesn't want to feel like a princess on her wedding day, and here you are given the opportunity to roam through the castle in your dress! It is a once in a lifetime opportunity open only to Disney couples and for me it will be worth being up at 4 in the morning to get ready for. They will be pictures that none of my other friends will have and show that I did indeed have a Disney fairytale wedding.

Just FYI, the Magic Kingdom Photography session now costs $1,000 :sad2:

If you are as huge of a Disney dork, er, fan, as you seem to be, I would say that the MK photo session is a MUST! LOL My biggest regret of not having a WDW wedding are those darn castle pics...lol

I say go for it! How great would a large pic of you and your new DW in front of the castle look all nice and framed above your fireplace among the disney decor...

for the record, my house would be entirely disney if left up to me...DH, although insanely disney as well, has reigned me in to just the kitchen and guest room...lol

I also think about how much money we are spending that day to look good and I want to make sure I have as many pictures as possible! It is $800 for our photoshoot, but my dress was over $700 and the tiara was $300 and hair and make-up will be $150, so when you put it all into perspective it doesn't seem as bad.

Congrats Chris and welcome!!!

On the MK photo shoot, I agree with Chantelle--go for it!! This is something that only couples married at Disney have the opportunity to do! How awesome is it to have pics in your wedding gear in front of Cinderella's castle?!! It is pricey but IMO definitely worth it.

Another great website for info is: www.mouseweddings.com

Good luck!
