I was thinking about planning a vow renewal for DH and I for our anniversary. He knows that I have been thinking about it and I already sent away for the brochure....

What advice and tips can all you "experts" give me? I will probably just do the intimate ceremony, but plan on adding the "extras", KWIM?? ;)

Anyway....any advice on....

-Officiants
-Photography locations
-Cake Flavors
-Formal Dinners

Come on ladies, I need all the help I can get.....

Thanks!

Hi Amie!

The first place to start would be checking out the Disney Wedding Website that will give you the basics on what is included in the packages. The intimate is now called the "Escape".

When you book the wedding/VR, Disney will send an information packet about some of your choices for officiants, music, cake flavors, etc.

The three most "popular" officiants are Rev. Jack Day, Rev. Tim Herring, and Rev. Kevin Knox. They all have their own websites and I'm pretty sure each of them sends out their own packet of information. I believe for an intimate, they charge about $150 (it could have gone up by now).

With the intimate/escape package, you get two hours of photography with Disney. For my intimate, the photographer showed up about 30 minutes before the wedding to take some pics at our resort (BWI). Then he snapped lots of pics during our ceremony at Sea Breeze Point, and quite a few afterwards around Sea Breeze Point. Here's a LINK to some of the pics taken (I never loaded all of them).

We chose a chocolate cake with amaretto mousse filling. OMG!!! It was SOOOOO good! And there was LOTS of it!

We had our wedding dinner at California Grill. It was just not our style.

If I could do it over again, I would change only a few things. I would have dinner somewhere else (not sure where, there are so many choices;) ) and I would see about doing an Illuminations or Wishes cruise.

If I were able to have guests, I would see about an Illuminations dessert party at one of the locations in World Showcase.

My intimate wedding was very simple...and while it was just what I wanted it limits my knowledge of lots of extras. I'm sure other brides will come along and give you lots of ideas!

Happy Planning!!!

Wow! Your pictures are beautiful. Sea Breeze point looks like a great location. We are looking to have the full 18 guests...

I too was pondering the California Grill, but I thought something at Le Celleir or Chef's could be great fun.

Anyone else??

Hi there! Hiwaygal gave you some great information!

I had a VR this past November at Sea Breeze Pointe, it was an intimate ceremony too :) We hired Rev. Tim Herring to perform the ceremony for us and hiwaygal was right about the price, it was $150. Dh and I thought he did a very nice job, even though he had only met us a few minutes before the ceremony he made it seem like he had known us a long time. He also read a few poems that I thought was a nice touch.

For cake flavors we chose chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling....we ended up giving most of it to the castmembers at our dinner because there was a TON of it. Even with 9 people we couldn't possibly have eaten it all.

We chose to use the Disney Photographer and like hiwaygal mentioned, you get two hours worth of pictures. Our photographer took pictures at the ceremony and then around the resort with just the two of us afterwards.

We didn't have a formal dinner, just made a reservation at the Boatwright Dining Hall so we didn't have the personal menus or anything like that. I just wanted it to be really casual....but we did wear the wedding ears to dinner :lmao:

Best wishes!!
