hi guys, we are going to san diego before disneyland in july. Does anyone have any suggestions for hotels that are nice and near legoland, the zoo, seaworld etc? Are there any deals or packages out there? (hotels that might include addmission for example?) Thanks for any help. maggie

Legoland, the Zoo and Sea World are all located in diff. areas of SD. When we go, we like to stay in the Mission Valley/Hotel Circle area which is pretty close to to zoo and not too far from Sea World. LegoLand is in Carlsbad which is a little north of SD.

Hi Maggie - Are you interested in a hotel near the beach? Also what is your definintion of a "nice" hotel? I live in the SD area so I could give you plenty of suggestions if you narrow it down for me regarding your needs/budget/location issues. Thanks!

Hookedup, what can you tell me about the 2 comfort inn on hotel circle ?
one is on 2485 hotel circle pl and the other is 2201 hotel circle south.
I am planning a trip to SD next summer, but am already gathering info on hotels down there.
The coronado does seem like a great place, to bad the prices are way over my limit.
Hope you can help me out a bit here.
Pete

HI, i am also planning a short trip to San Diego as part of our Disney land holiday. I would really like to stay near the beach. when I have travelled to San Diego before with my Aunt and Uncle we usually stayed at the Pacific Terrace Hotel but that is way out of my price range. Are there any hotels along that area that are more reasonable ($150 a night.) If not can you reccommend another beach area. We plan on going to Sea World and maybe the Zoo.

Thanks,

Allison

thanks you guys! :D We would like to see the zoo, the wild animal park and legoland, possibly seaworld. I would of course like to shop also :D . There are 3 of us, myself, dh and 8yr dd. We don't need "fancy" by any means, just a nice clean hotel room that isn't in the middle of nowhere. (my husband said any of the chains were fine with him, just no motel 6 or best western). We will only be in San Diego thursday afternoon through sunday am. (so 3 nights) If there are things that you guys think are "must do/see" please let me know. Thanks again for all your help! :D maggie

Hi I guess I should have read this first before I reponded to your post. Use the link I posted earlier. There is a code there for the Marriott on Coronado which I got for $99/night. There is shopping, restaurant and beached all within 5 to 10 mins drive of the hotel. The hotel is right on a board walk and walking distance to nice restaurant. There is a seafood place there that is excellent. Over looking the city across the bay.

BTW the pool is nice and warm.

We used to do several trips a year out there from Phoenix... In the Mission Beach area I loved the Bahia and the Catamaran Resort. Both had reasonable room rates, were on some water, had boat rentals and such and were very close to Sea World. There also is a Best Western Blue Sea Lodge which looks very unassuming but has unbelievable beach access - it is actually not in San Diego but in Pacific Beach which was always my favorite little town area.

If you want to stay in a little more corporate area there is a nice Marriott in La Jolla - it is a business district hotel so it has great weekend rates/packages and is close to everything.
