We will be visiting May 18-24th and plan on going to WDW Mon & Wed, Hollywood Studios on Fri and taking it easy on Tues/Thurs. We are staying at a townhome and will have a pool there plus local friends to possibly visit.
My husband and I grew up in Florida and have been to the parks many times but not for about 10 yrs+ and I know ALOT has changed. We have also never been with a young child.
So, I guess what I wanted to know was the best strategy for making this an enjoyable visit. I don't want to over plan but would like to have a general idea of where we are going in the parks, eating, etc. The only set plans we have so far is breakfast with Cinderella on Wed at 9:05 am. That will be a really early day for my daughter so we probably won't stay too late that night. I'm thinking of doing the Electric Parade on Monday that way she can sleep in and take it easy on Tuesday as that will be a very long, overwhelming day for her.
We do plan on bringing a stroller for her just in case and to carry drinks/lunch/snacks. She is not a huge fan of characters like Mickey or really anyone in a true costume. Princesses will be fine for her and she is excited to see them but not the full costume characters. I'm hoping the breakfast will be her Princess fix and we can avoid waiting in lines to see any of the others. Of course she would love to see Elsa and Anna but there is no way I'm waiting for hours to see them and we don't have plans to go to Epcot which is the only place they are right now, right?
So as far as rides go, I'm thinking Small World, Dumbo, Peter Pan, maybe Snow White, the Carousel. Not sure about the new ones - she was scared of Little Mermaid so I'm thinking we'll need to skip that ride or is it not scary? Any others? I don't really remember all of them anymore besides the more adult ones like Space Mountain.
I'm hoping to just kind of let her lead the way but with the Fast Pass and all of that now can we do that? Or are the lines going to be crazy? I do remember waiting for hours in lines when I was a kid! I think she will get really tired of waiting really quickly.

If yours is afraid of Little Mermaid, than you may count the bigger rides out. There's plenty though for her to enjoy!
