We are planning a surprise b-day party at WDW for my three kids. DD-will be 8 (pirate lover) DD-will be 5 (princess in training) and DS-will be 1 (Pirate in training) All are Disney fanatics. I am trying to find someway of breaking the surprise to them. We live in Ohio so when we are in the car for a long time they know we are going to Disney. Plus now that the two oldest know the signs and such they know when we are on our way south.
I thinking of a postcard. Or I was thinking of just leaving at night so the kids fall a sleep in the car and don't realize the trip Destination.
I am just wondering what others have done. If you don't mind sharing.

How fun! We have suprised our girls by telling them the morning we left. Put them in the car and and let them read the signs and figure it out could be really exciting. You may be on to something. We are taking our girls back for a 2nd suprise trip the week before Christmas. My husband wants to tell them we are taking them somewhere special for dinner. About the time we get to the airport they will have figured it out.

That might not be a bad way to do it.
We can put them in the car and tell them we are going out for dinner. We can head south and just let them figure it out.
Thanks for that idea.

when are you going in Feb, the beg of month might have some P & P parties booked for you pirate and princess in training.
Last xmas there was a promo that you got a call on Xmas Day from Mickey to break the news. Not sure if you want to break the news that far in advance but that went over well with my DD's last year.

Do you know if they are doing the P&P party again. We are really hoping they will. We will be going Feb 8-11. In hopes that they do the party again.
That is another really cute idea. Thanks

although nothing is official yet, it looks like they will have them back but probably not as many as last winter. If you look at 7pm closing times, it might indicate a P& P party. For your dates, the Saturday 9th has a 7pm close, so i assume it might be then. Good luck

I just noticed your ticker.I take it you will be there at that time too.
Yeah I noticed the time. We have our schedule planned around them having it again this year.
Thanks again for your help.

We'll be there Feb. 8-13! :cool1: Does anyone know how far in advance they announce the P&P parties? I've got our schedule tentatively set so I could make our ADRs, but we'd do a little rearranging if there really is a party on Sat. the 9th.

I went and look at the calendar for the month of Feb. and if the time indicates a possible P&P party it looks like there might be on the 9th and/or the 14th also. So I wouldn't change plans just yet. Hopefully they will announce something soon.princess:
