So I am planning a anniversary trip for my DW and I for our 10 year anniversary. We have 4 DD'd and this will be our first excursion 'kid-less' in a LONG while. I am looking for suggestions, tips, must sees, special things to do. We have been to DL in twice before as a family but with 4 DD's 9,7,5,and 3, we did most of the family things. I am trying to plan a semi romantic - couples getaway that we can fall in love all over again. Please shoot me your ideas, and tips. Kinda on a Budget so obiviously club 33 type stuff is out, unless anyone can get me in free!! :-)

Here's a few ideas:

FIRST! Get special anniversary pins at City Hall
Segway Tour in DCA
Dine at Napa Rose (kinda pricey)
Dine at Wine Country Trattoria (if Napa Rose is too pricey)
Stroll through the GCH lobby and sit by the fire and listen to the piano
Ask at the Train Station if you can ride on the Lilly Belle (special parlor car on the DLRR designed by Lilian Disney)
If you are there on a Saturday night, watch the Dance, Jive, Boogie and Swing Dance Party (while you eat a dole whip or sip hot cocoa -- depending on the season)

Have a great time together! :goodvibes

Surprise? She was telling me about it the other day on FB!!

DH and I just returned from our anniversary trip. We did the segway tour, fantasmic dessert seating, dinner at Blue Bayou and rode the Lilly Belle. DH surprised me with a room full of balloons at our hotel too! Here is a link to my trip report:

We spent our 10th anniversary in DL last December. We celebrated by going to Napa Rose (just awesome!!!) at sitting at the chefs counter, took the Holiday Tour and just enjoyed being in the park without DS. We had Photopass people take lots of pics of us together as well.

I just want to say how envious I am of all of you. DH and I have our 10th anniversary in December and I was hoping to celebrate it at DL, but my dh just gave me a look when I brought it up. He's not exactly the fan I am. :confused3

Something simple but nice - ice-creams and watching the fireworks together.

Have a great time! :goodvibes

Sorry, I got wrapped up in my envy and forgot to answer your question! I'd do the Holiday Tour like godalejunior mentioned. It's SO fun, and you get front row seats to see the parade (yes, seats!) as well as goodies to enjoy while you watch. You get front-of-the-line privileges at some of the holiday rides (we did Small World, HM, and we rode the train). You get to hear about the holiday decorations and sing carols. You get a little gift (pin and FP for us). So...you feel special and have fun, and it feels magical! If you have AAA or AP, there is a 20% discount on the price. I think it's about $47 at the discounted rate.

OP? BTW i should mention that I am planning our trip in March. I am praying that the World of Color will be open in time! Please keep the suggestions coming!

Okay so SURPRISE I know that we're going for our Aniversery!! What a fabulos IDEA!! SO I thought that we could plan a day of surprises each! You find info and I will find info then we can each plan our own day of surprises for the other!! BTW I really like the segway idea!! :)
Miss Shannon!!! I can't believe you remember!! You were such a savior that day!! I remember that yours is in Jan too! At first I was thinking that it would be really awsome because of Christmas time...but I was wrong! BUT I think it will be neat to experience the cool weather and the cocoa!! Who's taking the kids for you?? What hotel are you thinking of staying at?
We are hoping that some of our families might split up the week but we haven't braved the actual asking part yet! :scared1:

We will just be going for a long weekend. Two nights probably, hoping for the GCH if I can get some good AP rates.

We may down grade our trip if we can't find someone for the girls. I would LOVE to stay at there but I don't know if we could afford it!! LOL! Are the deals the much better with the AP?

They can be, right now the $400 off Fall promo is better. But with 3 trips in 3+ months, we are sticking with HOJOs....which does give an AP discount. We got 25% off for our Halloween trip, and 20% off for Xmas.

Okay I opened this secretly hoping this was my husband, since our 10 year is in two months :rotfl:

I was going to post some surprise ideas, but since you two are now planning together I just wanted to say have fun! Split a sweet dessert together, find a quiet spot to watch the fireworks, people watch on mainstreet, stroll downtown disney at night and watch the music entertainers. I have heard Steakhouse 55 over at the Disneyland hotel is great.

Have a wonderful time!

To the previous poster..Sorry!! BUT I hope that your husband reads this and gets inspired!!! : ) :thumbsup2 Now he knows what you REALLY wanna do!!! :lovestruc
Miss Shannon REALLY  your going for Chirstmas toooo!!! Ahhhh I wanna go see DL for Christmas SOOO bad!! Christmas is my favorite time of year! I would love to see how they do all the windows there!!! The windows along Mainstreet are some of my favorite parts of DL!!! :tinker: There very magical to me! I think it's the nerd in me! :dance3:
