I have been reading these boards for about 1 1/2 years and I have learned ALOT! I joined in December of 2001 and began planning a trip for June 03. This trip had to be posponed ( I changed jobs) due to lack of funds. So I began to plan for a trip November of 2004.

Last night, my new boss called me at home and asked what I thought about WDW Thanksgiving, this year. I told her it sounded GREAT, but we can't afford to go this year.

Then she asked if I thought I could afford to go if all I had to pay for was food and spending money.

Soooooooo, I am now in the planning stage of a trip for 8 to 20 people and that is why I need your help.
Are there any discounts for groups?
Is it to late to book rooms at the Wilderness Lodge for the week of Thanksgiving?
Where is a good place to have our Thanksgiving meal?

Sorry this is so long, Thanks in Advance for any and all thoughts, suggestions and helpful hints.

Well I would think that for a group that big that they may give some sort of discount. If this is for a business, I would think that for sure you would get a discount. You can check www.mousesavers.com to see if any discount codes are available.

I would go ahead and book ASAP. I would think that they would book pretty quick for the Thanksgiving holiday.

If you stay at FWL, I have read on the boards that there is a place to eat there that is good. I believe that people mentioned that is was good for Thanksgiving. Sorry I can't remember what it is called. Well I hope this helps or a leasts gets some other posts going for you.

You can get Thanksgiving PS 90 days out from your meal. So you have plenty of time to get those. You probably should concentrate on getting a place to stay. There are a lot of special Thanksgiving dinners all around WDW. Liberty Tree Tavern is neat - but you can't reserve that until 60 days out. And you have to have passes to go to the MK for that. They have had some nice dinners over at the YC/BC in the Convention Center in the years past, but I don't think they had it last year.

That's great SunnyB0019! I'm still planning on going to WDW over TG in 2004, but had hoped to go back in 2002. We didn't have the money flow either and have just started to seriously save and plan. I remember that for our 1999 TG week trip that I booked PS 60 days ahead of arrival. I wasn't able to secure PS for TG dinner where I wanted (guessing it was LTT, but I don't recall). The CM on the line suggested checking at Services that morning, of course there were just the 3 of us so it wouldn't have been difficult to find room if we had tried this. Instead, I booked LTT for Wednesday night, for the first availble Character Meal seating at 4pm. The restaurant was practically empty and the food was delicious.

It wouldn't hurt to inquire on a discount, you never know. Then again, if you're group will number as many as 20 you may need to split up- maybe you could make multiple ressies and eat in smaller groups?

Good luck planning- I hope all goes your way.
