My family is travelling on Feb 2. We arrive at 5:45 pm. We figured our first night would be spent at DTD to get into the Dis mood. We planned our dining reservations perfectly. 180 days out, all reservations were booked.

Since we were going to DTD our first night we decided to eat at Planet Hollywood. Well today, I get a call from this lame establishment, telling me that the entire restaurant has been booked, and our reservation has been cancelled. We can offer you dinner @ 10:30pm if you like.

What BS...I should have listened to others on the board and skipped this place. Never again...

Don't feel bad...you didn't miss out on much. You can try Wolfgang Puck's or Raglan Road. If you were thinking of Planet Hollywood, T-Rex would also be a great option. You have to call to get the T-Rex ressies, you can't get them on line. All are MUCH better than Planet IMHO! Sorry it didn't work out for you.

Thanks for the tip. Seamless booking. Kids will like this much better anyway :cool1:

So glad it worked out for you! My kids loved T-Rex. The burgers were great and the drinks were yummy! I thought the prices were very reasonable. Although it was loud, it is nowhere near as loud as Planet Hollywood! Have fun!

Since you're posting this on the DDP board, I'm assuming you're using the DDP. Are you aware that T-Rex does not accept DDP credits? You'll have to pay OOP for this meal.

Does Planet HOllywood? I didn't think they did either which is why I made the suggesion of T-Rex. Thanks for the mention.

I didn't bother looking at the 2011 brochure but I had the 2010 one bookmarked so I checked that one. PH was listed in the 2010 brochure. I won't eat at either so I have no personal experience.

Planet Hollywood does accept DDP.

Your other DDP TS choices at DTD are Wolfgang Puck Cafe, Raglan Road, and Captian Jack's.

Fortunately, Feb 2 should be a relatively slow time, so finding a replacement restaurant should be comparatively easy. If none of those work out, consider trying one of the resort restaurants.

Thanks for checking. Glad the OP was made aware fairly quickly. As for resorts, you can try POR or POFQ. Both of those are a boat ride from DTD.

There's also Saratoga Springs and OKW along the river by boat.

I agree, OP is not missing much - in a way they did you a favor. I have never been to the DTD Planet Hollywood, but I'll say this much: I stopped dining at that chain in my twenties.

I cancelled my PH ressies and I'm pretty sure I'm glad I did. PH is on the 2011 DDP; T-Rex is not. I made my T-Rex ressies on Disney's website, but its a place in demand so I had to try a few times to get what I wanted.

And the food court at POR is outstanding, one of the best on-property, IMO.

However, Boatwrights, the TS option at POR, is generally not worth the effort of going to unless you're already at POR (and even then, it's a toss-up). There is no TS option at POFQ.

Try Raglan Road. My family has eaten there our last 4 trips and loves it! The service is fantastic, the music is great, and our food has always been very good. It's a fun place to eat.

We ate at the Planet Hollywood in Times Square NYC last May when we took our DD to American Girl. It was okay, exactly like a TGI Fridays or Chilis, but more expensive. It was my DD's choice and I'd eat there again if I was with people that wanted to go there. I just wouldn't go out of my way to eat there again.

Sorry about PH. We always make PH our first and usually our last restaurant to eat at while at WDW. We all think it is very good and look forwar to this meal each trip. I would have to reccoment Raglan Road too. I know you said you booked T Rex, I have to say that RR is great entertainment and wonderful food. They are also great at accomodating to food allergies and vegetarians! We always stay at POR and their food court is very good! We dont eat at Boatwrights. The menu doesnt look that great.
Enjoy your trip.

My DW and I ate there in '04 and will never go back. The food wasn't that good and we both got bad stomach aches (we had different meals).
