We will be in WDW in mid Jan. for a short trip for a gymnastics meet. The team is getting together to do a couple of dinners, and we are having a hard time deciding which one to do. Right now they have PH for one night, and they want to do Spirit of Aloha for another night. Now being a WDW vet I know these are completely different venues, but I was wondering what your thoughts are. In my party it will be Myself(eats anything, moving or not) DW( vegetarian) and DD 10 (eats most of the things on the kids menus).
One of my concerns is that when looking at the poly menu, there doesn’t seem to be anything my DW would like to eat. Also are there kid’s offerings at the poly dinner? I'm pretty sure that they both could find something at Planet to eat. So I guess i'm just wondering if the Poly dinner would be a big waste of money.

Does anyone have any experince with the poly dinner? How was it? Were did you sit. Was the food ok?

Thanks for the help everyone.

I wouldn't book Spirit of Aloha for January. They cancel the show when the temps drop below 50 degrees, which is quite likely in January. They canceled on us in late March one time because the temps dropped below 50. It would be risky, so make sure people know there's a good chance of cancellation.

If you want to take your chances, you can check out the menu here:

There is a kid's menu. Looks like some salads and starches are on the menu though for the vegetarian. Another thing to consider is availability. This requires booking with advance payment (you'll get a refund if it's canceled). I doubt the shows would book up in January, but you may not have your choice of seats.

Of the two choices, I'd pick Planet Hollywood.

When we did SoA before the vegetarian dish I was brought was a noodle stir fry. Also I was able to eat the vegetables, salad and bread that our family shared. The meal was very good and it was more than enough food. And while the show is a little on the corny side we really enjoyed it. Hoping to head back once my girls get a bit older.

Although, I will echo that January might not be the best time to visit since there is that chance of cold weather canceling the show.

Hope that helps a little! :goodvibes
