DS really wants to go to Planet Hollywood. I can't make up my mind with timing being the main factor. I haven't been to Planet Hollywood since the mid 90's when it still actually belonged to Bruce Willis and the gang. I don't remember being all that impressed with the food then...

So what's it like now? And is it a place that I really need an ADR for? I plugged in some possible dates on the on-line ressies today and ther were several openings. We would be going in early December.

Thanks!

My group went there last year for New Years Day. We didn't have ADR's...It was a "Hey...you wanna go here?" type of deal. Anyway, we waited less than 10 minutes. The food? Its nothing you can't get at your local Applebees or TGIFridays. Its better than CS, and cheaper than a typical Disney restaraunt, so when your not on the DDP, that matters.

It's the same thing that it was back in the day. The food isn't spectacular, but I don't mind chain restaurant food. Personally I'd pass. The atmosphere is just eh. I'd rather have something more interesting.

My husband absolutely loved it!! As a matter of fact, he loved it so much that he requested to go back a second time during our trip this past September. He got the ribs both times and they were AMAZING. He's a rib lover and will hands down order ribs from any menu where offered. He thinks these are the best ribs to be found on Disney property. They were fall off the bone and huge (and I really mean fall of the bone). The ribs are so big that the PLATTER they are served on is too small. They were hanging off each end.

We had an appetizer the first evening (chicken crunch) and it was very good. I had the chicken fajitas both times and loved them. I did find that they should serve 1 extra tortillas as the fillings (chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cheese, sour cream, guocamole) were more plentiful than the number of tortillas served. I easily remedied that by asking for an extra tortillas and was prepared to pay for it, but they didn't charge. With the fajitas, you can have whatever "side" you want (ie. Mexican rice, fries, potatoes, etc.).

I thought the atmosphere was great. There is so much memorabilia everywhere, we were cranking our heads everywhere pointing different things out to each other. It's loud in there (live DJ during certain hours), but we enjoyed the lively atmosphere.

Give it a try!

I've been to many PH's and honestly, I've never had a bad meal, but for some reason I don't go rushing in when I see one. If I had a kid who really wanted to go - I'd do it for him and realize you're getting good food (for this genre) at a fair price.

My kids LOVE Planet Hollywood! The food is ok, but I feel it's more for the atmosphere anyway. The LA Lasagna is to die for yummy tho!!! Hope you enjoy it! We're returning on our November trip:goodvibes

This is a must do for us as well. It's become a tradition that our first day/night is always spent at DTD and our first meal is PH. This is the type of food we enjoy and we've never been disappointed. DD is a huge rib lover and we almost died when they brought out the ribs when we were there 8/30. :rotfl: They don't offer 1/2 a rack, only a full rack and it was HUGE! Definitely get your monies worth at this place and I will continue to make this our traditional first meal.
