Plane seating

Only airlines that publish their seating charts are listed on sites like www.seatguru.com or www.seatexpert.com

Southwest, Sun Country (my airline), and others don't publish their seating arrangements, so those sites can't post them.

GoofyDad.... I have priced flights that have included a leg on a CRJ (Canadian Regional Jet) that seated 35 people..... now were are talking small... I have also flown on a prop plan that seated 12! That was interesting!

I understand.

I just dont want any of us having to sit with a stranger. My family ( not me ) is kind of shy. DS2 will not sit for it. DD10 and DW will just be miserable. :(

I flew Delta Connections, the same Embraer jet, and it was small. When I booked our trip down to WDW, I got to choose our seats when booking directly through Delta.com and got 4 seats together for DH, DD5, DD3 and myself. ON the return flight they didn't have 4 together. When I checked in, I told the attendant about not wanting my children to be seated together (just the kids) or with strangers. And they had already "re-seated" us to be together. Someone must have looked at the ages on the reservations and said - "There is no way strangers are going to sit with 2 little kids" LOL Hopefully, it will work out for you the same way.

On another note - those little jets are loud! But overall, I didn't mind being on a smaller jet. A prop-jet is another story....I hate those things.

:) Hopefully if they that to us the OP will want to switch seats. This jet has only 1 aisle and it has them set up as row A then the aisle, then Rows B and C together.

Let me tell you about prop planes...

When I got out of Air Base Ground Defense in the Air Force I flew one of these tradgedies to American aeronautics. It was a tiny, 2 row 1 aisle prop plane. To make matters worse I was flying into Cheyenne Wyoming. Now, you'd think Cheyenne (being WY capital and all) would have a large airport...
...Ohhhh noooo. Not by any stretch of the imagination. Ron White (comedian) hit the nail on the head with these small airports. It was the Cheyenne Wyoming airport hair salon and tire center in one. Good lord! AND the topping on this little slice of pie was when we landed in a blizzard. Yes, a blizzard. It was late January, and there was about 3 feet of snow (not and exaggeration) already on the ground and we land in it. :scared1:

By and large the worst plane ride I have EVER taken. :(

:earseek: Now I know I won't be riding on one of those anytime soon.

OT - LOL about Ron White - saw him in concert a few months ago. Hilarious!!!! His story about the Sears Tire center reminded me our local Sears store.

Back to the subject - if I was placed with a child I didn't know, I would certainly offer a parent my seat. Who wouldn't? (I'm sure there are some people). When my husband voiced concerns that one of children might have to sit with a stranger, I assured him that whoever this person might be would eventually be seeking out a parent. ;) My DD3 could talk the ear off of a mule. :earboy2: On the flight to MCO we had rows 5&6 - seats B&C in each. My DDs got the window seats. On the way home, we had rows 3&4. (At least I think it was) Row 3 was the bulkhead with lots of leg room, and my DD3 was fascinated by the pull out tray in the armrest of her seat. Kept her busy...

I live in a small town. We have to connect just about everywhere we fly to.

I am used to be on a CRJ and the Embraer. I don't mind htem at all.

I flew a 777 out of ORD to MCO last month, and wow, I felt a little claustrophic with all the gazlllion people on board.

We got reassigned seats also on ATA last spring. We purchased tickets in February for a flight in mid July. They changed the plane and flight time. By the time I realized what happened, my son, husband and I were scattered throughout the plane. Husband was in the front, my son and I in the back. Sorry to hurt anybody's feelings, but, how do I know the guy in seat 29c isn't a pedophile when my son is in 29b. It's much better for at least one parent to be with a 6yo.
