Hiya was wondering is it ok to take food onto the plane to eat my little boy has an eating disorder and with 9 hours on a plane was going to take my own food for him like some sarnies and stuff like that would you think there would be a problem with this?

We have taken snacks on board like nuts and crisps. Sandwiches or own made meals may be a problem with security - they may require you to sample the food to prove it's not explosives or something :confused3

You won't be able to take some foods into the US like fruit, nuts, seeds, meat etc. so you will have to leave any un-eaten food on board the plane.

You will have no problem taking your own food. If we travel Boxing day we take Turkey and stuffing sarnies. Also taken a mini picnic at other times of year, if time sometimes eat at gate waiting for departure, if not eat onboard. We have also bought BK meals (in airport) and taken onboard. I don't like plane food so usually find other options.
Your only problem is drinks, 100ml max so you have to buy them in airport or onboard(free with scheduled carriers)

Take what you need to, and just buy the drinks (if you want to) after security. I never get to eat on the plane, and am lucky if I get to eat the roll that comes with breakfast :rotfl: I can't remember the last time out of 10 flights when I actually ate the meals they served - maybe once about 4yrs ago when I got the fruit bag and carrot sticks from my sister's children's meal :lmao:

First flight it happened, I was going to pass out by the time I arrived at the airport. 9hrs without food is a bit harsh! Anyway, these days I just take my own food with me, and then we make sure one of the last things we do at Disney is have a big, fat sit-down meal to stuff us up for the flight home! :rotfl:

aww good good thanks guys/girls its a bloody nightmare when the little fella will only certain foods :S 12 sleeps to go now yey :D

glad we arent the only family to take food on the plan ..hubby doesnt like to do it though ( gets embarrassed ) even in the parks we sometimes take rolls to eat as our kids are fussy eaters .
