I think it could be tomorrow. They announced the search on a Friday. The window is likely to open on a Friday. It may be wishful thinking, but it seems plausible to me.

Isn’t there usually a lead time? Like have they ever announced and opened on the same day?

Yes. Maybe I should have been more clear. I'm hoping the emails go out tomorrow and they give a week to prepare before the window opens on the 19th. It would be unprecedented and very unlikely for the emails to go out and window to open on the same day.

Yea that is why I kinda figure after Wednesday our chances for the week are closed. I think it is highly unlikely we find out tomorrow and the window open. Our best hope is to get emails tomorrow and window open next week.

weirdly having a 2 hour meeting right at the start of my day seems to have short circuited the anxiety I'm usually feeling by this time of day... Maybe my brain just hasn't really turned on yet?

I feel like at this point, we’ve submitted well over a month ago and at least for me, it seems like the email is never going to come. I was anticipating last week so much that come this week, I feel more meh. Am I checking? Absolutely. But the anticipating is kind of wearing off for me. All I know is there are 15 more days of this month left for them to announce round 2, and the whole thing is supposed to be done by October 31, so when you think of it, this is all over in 46 days. And it’s already been 35 since the end of round 1.

I feel like at this point, we’ve submitted well over a month ago and at least for me, it seems like the email is never going to come. I was anticipating last week so much that come this week, I feel more meh. Am I checking? Absolutely. But the anticipating is kind of wearing off for me. This is the part that is confusing me. I made it to round 2 last year and I felt like the wait between 2 and 3 was longer than 1 and 2 (which may or may not be true, I didn't track it) but they'd be running out of time if they did take longer.

Last year it was 31 days between the close of round 1 and the results email being sent out and ~2.5 weeks between round 2 ending and the results being sent out. Both were about a week longer than they had been in previous years.

Same. If it doesn't come in the next hour or so today, and if it doesn't come by tomorrow, I'm really feeling like the next round won't open until the following weekend, which is bananas. They would have to wrap up all of round 2 and 3 in like 3-4 weeks.

Agreed. We're already almost a week longer than last year which was the longest we know of. I guess there's a little more leeway this year because the training trip is at Disneyland instead of on a cruise so they don't need to give people enough time to get passports and things? Still, i'd be so surprised if they weren't at least aiming for the round 2 window to be this weekend.

First year I did it the time between the end and the training was I think like 10 days. so its not unheard of for them to give super short notice.

This was back when they started the search around Labor Day.
The time frame between rounds was shorter.

Also they assume that you've read the dates and are agreeing that you can go before you even submit the first round.
