Ok visiting US and IOA for the first time in April. We have allocated 1 day for each park. I was wondering if anyone could help me with a plan of attack, in general I've heard to get there early and some have mentioned to do the back of the park first and work my way forward. Any other tips would be appreciated

Are you staying onsite?? I assume you're staying offsite because you have asked this question?

if you stay offsite, be at the parking garage before 8.
be at the ticket turnstile by 8:15.

start early. gates open when the line becomes long.

do the main rides in the front first, then go to the back of the park.
crowds generally start around 11.

eat at off times while others are riding.

what part of april are you going?
hopefully not during spring break.
if you are, be prepared for crowds.

Both parks are in a big circle (unlike WDW). It is very easy to make your way around the parks and not miss anything. To start at the back depends on you. When going to IOA, we always make a left and start at the Hulk and work our way around instead of zig zagging around a circle. At US we always go straight and our first ride is ROTM - and ending in that area most likely at Finnigans having some drinks at the bar;) If you are staying onsite, you really have no worries as the FOTL saves you a ton of time. If staying off site, take macraven's advice. You can also purchase express passes, but get them early before they sell out. You will be able to tell how busy the parks will be by the posted park hours on USO's website....for busier times the parks are open later.

Either way you will have plenty of time to see and do everything. The layout of the parks makes it very easy to make your way. The parks may seem ginormous, but they are not.

Agree, arrive at the ticket turnstiles by 8.15. At IOA start at incredible hulk, then spiderman, then dr doom and make your way around that way. For US start at the mummy and work your way to jaws and go round that way. Thats what my family do and we buy the 2 week ticket so we have about 8-10 trips to both parks each holiday

I will be staying offsite, thanks for all the good tips, I thought I recall reading that there is some sort of light show at night, is that true, and if so is it at both parks.

the 360 / globes in the lagoon/water should be on w/fw during the summer.
i don't believe they have it when the parks close before 10

the 360's are in the studios.
