what is the best strategy fir RSR? We will be there in July on a Thurs. have 4 boys so this is an important rude for us. Ride it 1st thing or get fast pass first? How long do fast passes last for RSR?

we always go in April. so the strategy might differ at this time of year , but what we do. is get into park.. I get fastpasses while the rest do screaming, then meet at Toy story mania.. by that time , ride window time should be up... I would check if fast passes are still available either before getting on the ride and grab new ones or just after getting off.... if you are staying onsite you will have the advantage of using the early morning at D/A. so you could do it then also.. with limited impact on your time. hope you have a great tirp

Either ride first thing or FP will work fine. The nice thing about the FP approach is you have a spot on the ride later if it happens to go down. If you are in the regular standby line and it goes down then you will lose your spot usually.

It also depends on whether you are early arrivers. It is not worth going on RSR first thing unless you arrive at the DCA gate at least 30 minutes early. The line builds so quickly in the morning that if you are not towards the front you will have a pretty long wait in standby.

If you think you might want to ride RSR twice on that day then your best bet is to arrive early, ride RSR, then get a FP. If you time the FP window properly your second ride can be at night which feels like a different experience.

If you go the FP route only (and thus just one ride) I would encourage you to get the FP for earlier in the day in case the ride does go down. In that case you have the rest of the day available for it to come back and use your FP. If the ride is down during your FP window you can come back any time that day to ride it with the FP.

I am not sure about the time but when we were there last summer they were available still around 10-1030 since they are connected now they last a little longer

How old are your kiddos? We rode three times in June with no FP by using single rider. It's much quicker.

We there last Wednesday. We had my four year old duo so went for Anna & Elsa fastpasses and then to check on Olaf and got distracted by . . . . (I'll spare you the details). . . and didn't get to the RSR fastpass machines until around 9:45am and they were going for 3ish then. We were leaving for naptime and dinner in the afternoons so I stalked the machine for about an hour while the kids did bugs land until it got to 6:20. I don't know how long they lasted after that. But I wouldn't stress about them too much.

Boys are 10,9,7, and 5....we will be there on July 30....would love to ride it twice....one time at night if possible....we will go back to hotel for afternoon break and then stay as late as possible since it is our last night there and we don't have to get up early the next day...I assume crowds die down as park gets close to closing

For us, the lines were shorter during WOC and single rider was only 15 minutes. However, that was the only trip where DH and I didn't end up in the same car which would be the greater issue with Mr. 5 and Mr. 7 and single rider.

FP's should last until 11AM. But as it approaches 11AM understand the return windows move towards later in the day.

I would say for little guys, I would get FP on the way into the park and then do a stand-by ride if the line is less than 30 minutes. Otherwise, get a second FP before riding your first time. the FP will list a time that you can get a new FP. Single rider will not work because your little guy cannot ride alone. You could try a Parent Swap that will give you a "fast pass" for the other parent while the little guy waits with the second parent. Not sure you can do parent swap on SRL.

As for a night ride, during the WOC the line will be shorter or you can try to get a later FP by waiting until 12:00-2:00 and watching the return times. It will not be dark until near 9:00 during the summer.

5 yr olds can't do single rider. I would either try the stand by line or pull fast passes first thing. Then, after doing TSMM or using your RSR fast pass, you or dh go check the machines for a night FP. They last at least 2hrs (I think more like 3-4), so this should time out. If you do RSR FP first thing, you may want to check before riding. You can sit at the machines letting people go past you until the time you want pops up.
