Places to Nap

We just got back a couple of days ago :) Thanks everyone for all of the suggestions.

Turns out that Pirates was the big hit for napping. As soon as we would get in line for it he would doze off and sleep through the whole ride. LOL! He then slept through all the pirate shopping we did afterwards too.
I'm still surprised that he didn't wake up on that little drop. I also think that Wishes lulled him to sleep at night (the booming we would hear from the fireworks while putting him to bed at Ft Wilderness) LOL

I'm so envious of all your little ones who will sleep anywhere. My 13 m.o. will only sleep in her crib or a pnp, not the stroller or the car. We have to go back to the room to nap in the afternoon when we visit WDW.

If you're at Epcot, go through the International Gateway and over to Boardwalk. There are comfy chairs and benches under the porch in the shade. It's our favorite spot to relax and read in peace and quiet. If you want more of a view, go up on the BW porch and share a wicker rocker or a sofa.

In EPCOT, we found that there is an area in the character photo op that has great benches and a huge hall. It is after you meet the characters, but there is a back entry to it. There are also little known bathrooms as well. It would be a great place for a nap. You mentioned not leaving the room until 9:30....have you ever tried getting to the parks earlier? You can get so much done in the first hour or 2 with very little wait time. Just a thought:)

We tried the first year to take our daughter back to the room to nap. That did not work out because she did not want to miss anything, even at age 2. So we would go until she would fall asleep. She would fall asleep while we were near adventure land... swiss family robinson's treehouse. We would sit on the benches and wait for her to wake up and people watch or have an egg roll snack. In later years, my younger daughter would nap on the secret trail between toontown and tommorrowland while in the stroller or on my sholder.:) Good luck. After your first day, you will know what will work best for you.:)

mmmmmmmmmmmmm. ... back at the hotel room???? we took our kids back every day for an afternoon break. they, and we, were much more refreshed and ready for a fun evening.

Yes,Yes, Yes!!!! This is a part of our day at the parks!!!! The only park we sometimes stay the whole day is MGM (Yes, I know the name has changed, but it will always be MGM to me), because the pace is a little slower there, not as exhausting, don't really know why. However, a day at MK, AK, or Epcot includes a break to the room and we all crash as soon as we walk into the room, never a complaint from the kids or hubby - we have all come to expect this much needed rest time, then we get up and go out for our evening all refreshed. Evening meals are so nice, no meltdowns or tantrums....I love the naptime.:goodvibes

I was hoping someone would mention that spot!!! Df and I sat in this hall for about a half hour and he let me lay on the bench and nobody hardly walked through there. I layed there and rested...although I tried to use that restroom and there was a huge line. I said forget it. :rotfl:

My son always like to eat and take a nap at Hall of Presidents, He would get a nice 25 min. nap in. even at 25 I think he would still fall asleep if he ate and went to the show.:rotfl:
