What are some of the better counter service restaurants in both parks? We will be at each park for one day this summer....first time for us to visit Disneyland area also....thanks.

Plaza Inn at DL for the fried chicken.

Cozy Cone Hotel at DCA for Chilli Cone Queso or the Bacon Mac & Cheese if they still have it.

These are a few of the ones we have to hit

A second vote for Plaza Inn for the fried chicken. We also like Hungry Bear (fried green tomato sandwich) and Rancho del Zocalo in DL. I'm also a fan of Flo's V8 Cafe for breakfast in DCA.

In addition to Plaza Inn I also like the French Market. A stop at the red wagon for a corn dog is a must at least a couple times each trip.

My favorite counter services are Plaza Inn and French Market in DL, Earl of Sandwich in DTD, and Tangaroa Terrace in DLH. I'm kind of ambivalent about the CS locations in DCA (Flo's is okay), but if I was trying to pick something that wasn't a TS location, I'd go with Carthay Circle Lounge (more pricey than a CS, but good appetizer style foods). I also really like Jolly Holiday in DL, but that's more for snacks and other goodies.

We really like Paradise Garden Grill and Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta in DCA. The skewers with rice and salad are great at Paradise and the Pesto Ravioli and Boardwalk is really good too. Love the seating over there also, lots of it, nice and shady and usually a live music act of some kind.

We love the Hungry Bear in DL (LOVE the location/view) Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta in DCA.

All I have to say about the "best" restaurant, it all in the eyes of the beholder.

Be sure the restaurant you choose has good choices for all of the members in your family. Some places have only "fancy food" that some kids will not eat; while others only have "junk food" that offend some parents/kids. You need to determine what is "junk" or "too fancy" is for your troop.

The cozy cone hotel in cars land at DCA has some good options. Earl of Sandwich in Downtown Disney is always good, and you cant go wrong with a Disneyland corndog in any park.

We thought Plaza Inn Chicken was not that great but the rest of the meal was good.

Flo's V8 Cafe in DCA was really good and the outside seating has a view of RSR.

I really don't understand the appeal of Cozy Cone for anything more than a snack. I don't want to stand in line twice to order 2 different things. It's cute to walk through, but not practical when it's time to order.

Several places are just not to be missed for us. The Plaza Inn's chicken (among the best I've ever had) and Ranch Del Zocalo just to sit near the tracks of BTMRR and enjoy the sounds and sights. We also enjoy Carnation Cafe because the food is good and it's fun to sit and watch the traffic on Main Street.
We used to have to hit The Golden Horseshoe on our first day of every trip but the entertainment has gone down hill and the food isn't as good anymore either.

I really like Paradise Garden Grill at DCA. The food is really tasty and fairly fresh.

Yep.....ya know your food is fresh when....your chicken clucks....the steak has moo left in it....your surf is still tryin to swim.....and your turf tries to run off....your eggs are still warm from being sat upon by their hens....your garden salad has more garden in it from what you may care to know.....enjoy!

My personal favorite is the Paradise Garden Grill in DCA for their yummy skewers and chimichurri (sp?) sauce. I haven't had it for a couple of years because their food was replaced w/ the holiday Mexican foods. As an aside, I was surprised by how good their posole was during the Xmas season. Almost as good as grandma's...Hubby loves their corndogs at both parks. I am so looking forwards to finally having a skewer again in Sept!

I like Harbour Galley for their baked potatoes (I get the BBQ chicken and coleslaw variety), which are a good deal for what you get. It is located across from Haunted Mansion/Splash Mountain.

I also enjoy getting some gumbo in a breadbowl from the Royal Street Veranda, located just to the right of Pirates of the Caribbean.

For a nice area to sit down and relax while I eat, I enjoy Rancho del Zocalo in Frontierland.

Great thread getting some getting some great ideas.

I don't mean to thread jack but that Plaza inn looks like a good option I'm considering for my group of 2 adults 6 kids. I had a question about the fried chicken is it frowned on if I were to get that three piece chicken dinner and split it between two kids? It looks good but too much chicken for 1 kid, so I was wondering what the thoughts were on that.

Thanks
