Places to eat?

Oh the No Way Jose at Beaches and Cream is to die for!!!!!!
I also quite like The Lone Star Steak House near Little Lake Bryan if you don't want to stray far from Disney property. I have always found the prices to be very reasonable, and the service good. It's not fancy decor, and you may have a wait if you leave it too long, but if you just want to pop out of WDW to eat and then still be back fairly quickly it's fine. Carolyn

I agree with Allie.

Wild Jacks is a great place for steak.

Damons gets our family vote for ribs + try the onion loaf (1 per tribe is enough - its huge):) :)

We also had a good meal at JTs going west on 192 (we picked up this tip from an earlier edition of Simons book).

this is my first post .. so because I like food I thought I would start here :)

I would suggest you go ahead and try RFC at either location. It is an experience the first time and the food is usually pretty good.

Also I have to agree that the Cheesecake Factory is another must try place. We went there for the first time last June (the one at Winter Park Mall) at lunchtime and it was full of locals..usually a very good sign of a great restaurant in Orlando.

The portions are huge (try the meatloaf !!!) but you have to leave room for the Cheesecake.

Also these we have tried in the past and have found them to be very good:

Pebbles (Crossroads LBV)
Olive Garden
The Flying Fish (Boardwalk - expensive, but one of Disney's best)
Romano's Macaroni Grill (LBV)
Darryl's (I Drive)
Bennigans

and a traditional diner - Ice Cream parlour type place on the lake front in Celebration - which just at the moment I cant think the name of

Hi R-S and welcome to the DIS from a fellow Gloucestrian.

Lo Debbie

Its a small world isnt it

You will like the Grand Cypress I think !

btw still cant think of the name of that Celebration diner - can you ?

And greetings RS from an ex-Gloucesterian! LOL

All this talk of food makes me ravenous - it's great to have all these personal recommendations though. Keep 'em coming...

We also enjoy Chili's....it's a chain of restaurants with the usual burger/ribs type fare, but they also do some interesting entrees - some spicy ones too! It was SOOOO reasonably priced as well! I think one evening the girls had kids meals (which are large enough for up to a teenager IMHO) and Shaun and I just had main courses, he had a beer and the rest of us had coke (free refills) and it came to around $25! (Yes - for everything!)

The girls loved it - they got to keep their drinks cups, they loved the colouring in sheets they could do while they waited for their meals too!

We were very impressed!

Herman's Ice Cream Shoppe? I haven't eaten there, but we did go to the Market Street Cafe, which I'm sure was called something else at the time.

I spotted that you were from Gloucester, but I completely missed that you've stayed at HRGC a k-zillion times. I have posted before asking for info from anyone who's stayed there, but didn't get much response. Please tell me all about it! The trip is for my brother's 40th birthday and he's a keen golfer.
