We are looking for some restaurants for our trip in April, and we would like to eat at a few full service and several counter service restaurants. I would like to have counter service ideas for both parks and Downtown Disney, but am flexible with full service. I ate at Catal when I was there for a conference once and enjoyed it so that might be our big splurge, but I am looking for a few other suggestions.

PS We don't like fish, so that seems to eliminate many of the New Orleans restaurants, but maybe not.

Disneyland
I have eaten at every place in this park :rotfl2: but here are the ones I eat at the most ... if you have question about any place pm me :)

Full Service: Café Orleans (My bf favorite Monte Cristo and mine is the Three-Cheese Monte Cristo) or Blue Bayou (we are not a fan of the new menu prices so we have not been here since they changed the menu)

Counter/Casual/Quick: Redd Rockett's Pizza Port (BF - Countdown Chicken Fusilli … Me - Terra Nova Tomato Basil Pasta or The Golden Horse Shoe (Bf - Fish & Chips … Me- Mozzarella Strips) or Hungry Bear (Burgers)

Snack/Treat: Tiki Juice Bar (BF and Me- Dole Whip Float)

DCA
We hardly eat in this park but when we do Award Wieners or Pizza Oom Mow Mow… We ate at Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill and I spit out my chicken burrito :scared: (note: I am a picky eater and lived in So Cal all my life and know what real Mexican food is lol)

Hotels
GCH: Whitewater Snacks (we have eaten 80% of what they offer and no complains)

DLH: Goofy's Kitchen (buffet)

PPH: Never ventured that far lol

We like Pizz port for the pasta and salads, not the pizza.

Plaza inn has good fried chicken. The other items look pretty good, but we haven't tried them.

Riverbell has pretty good BBQ. We shared the chicken and rib combo. I didnt care for my sandwich from there. It was too much like lunch meat and not enough like "roast turkey". It wasnt a bad sandwich, it was fresh with a lot of meat, just not what I was hoping for. Breakfast there is also pretty good.

Carnation cafe is our favorite place for breakfast!

Most of the bread bowls through out both parks are good- clam chowder at the Royal street veranda or Riverbell, chili at coke corner, or corn chowder in DCA are all good.

We also like Carnation Cafe but for lunch (mostly because I can't waste park time on breakfast) They have an awesome turkey sandwich on pretzel bread.

We also like WWS snacks in the Grand Californian, and it's so easy to hop there from CA. Sourdough Breadbowl is another favorite in DCA.

I also second Redd Rocketts for the Chicken Fusilli pasta. It's wonderful!

The only place we ever go in DTD is La Brea Bakery for some quick stuff. They have decent salads and sandwiches there.

I can't believe no one has mentioned StoryTellers Cafe at GC! I have only eaten the breakfast (Character buffet) The food is amazing and I start every day at Storytellers. The frenchh toast soaked in the carmel sauce is well worth it! In fact for my upcoming trip that begins on Jan 28 I booked a 5:00am flight out of Orlando so *hopefully I can make it to breakfast*

Other good choices are (forgive me for forgetting the name) the bread place in thr Wharf area. We get a loaf of bread and munch on it through the day!

Hope this helps!

My husband had an excellent filet mignon and I had an excellent NY Strip at Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen in DD, so don't rule it out. Do check out the menu first - there were a lot of non-seafood selections.

Another vote for Storyteller's for breakfast, lunch or dinner!! I have eaten all three meals there and had great food every time. Haven't gotten the buffet, but they have a great turkey sandwich and as mentioned above, the french toast is GREAT!

Big vote for White Water Snacks at GCH - I cannot say enough good things about the place, and it is very close to DCA.

Here's what I like...

Table service--
LOVE Storytellers both Breakfast and Dinner
Goofy's Kitchen is a fun Character Meal
Blue Bayou for lunch (yummy Monte Cristo)
Carnation Cafe--fresh sandwiches and soups
Cafe Orleans--Monte Cristo but I like Blue Bayou for atmosphere more and you get salad and bread and sides at BB

Counter Service--
Redd Rockett's Pizza Port (yummy Chicken Fusilli)
Pacific Wharf Cafe (DCA) soup in breadbowls
Plaza--giant meal of fried chicken (great to share) and pasta
French Market for lunch (French Dip)

If you feel like walking off-property, Mimi's Cafe is on Harbor Blvd. The food is yummy and reasonably priced. Also, the portions are LARGE. Our whole family (even picky DS) really liked it.
