We are going to Sea World in August and I was wondering if there are places to cool off? I notices one post talked about the lack of shade. I am expecting it to be hot, but are there places to get a break if you need it?

Shamu's Happy Harbor has some shade. There are play areas for the kids and a soda and popcorn stand nearby. I like to go there when I am tired and I just let the kids go run and play and enjoy a cool drink.

Eat at Sharks. Air conditioning is cool! :goodvibes Besides that, it is a very hot park, but Shamu's Happy Harbor was a good suggestion. The Odyssey show and the Pets Ahoy shows are indoor and airconditioned, but everything else is outside, so good luck. I seem to remember that Key West is fairly shaded as well, but I'm not sure about that. We used to go through the strip of shops by the Pets Ahoy show when we got really hot and it was fairly cool in there. Good luck.

Thank you for all the info. My guess is that Dining with Shamu is going to be hot. So we will do the Sharks dining.

My nephew and I were there last July. I made sure to pick an air-conditioned place for lunch. I think it was Voyager's Wood Fired Pizza. Other than that, it is pretty much an open area. There is a SHORT film about the manatees. There are also small underwater viewing area for the manatees and dolphins. And the penguin and shark exhibit are both inside. Not places to relax, but at least it'll get you out of the sun for a while.

Good place to cool off and maybe even let the little ones sleep is the Manatees building. We usually just pick a spot out of the way on the floor in the AC and rest there if anyone in our group is tired or tired of the heat. We also head there when we see a big storm coming and wait out the storm in there. Another cool spot is Arctic Adventure watching the polar bears and walrus when we are over heated on a hot day. It always feels good in there.
We by-pass the ride or even the movie in the walk through and go straight to the animals.
