Placeholder discount on DVC cruise?

Can you use a placeholder discount on a DVC cruise or any other discount (we were given one for cabin issues on our last DVC cruise)?

I believe that since you have to book a DVC Member cruise through DVC, the placeholder can't be used because DVC is a separate entity. I was under the impression that DVC reserves the ship for that time so all bookings are made through them. Placeholders are purchased through DCL.

But to be completely sure, it's best to contact Member Services.

Normally I would say 'no'...but I think you can make the argument that you received this discount on your last DVC cruise due to issues with your cabin.

Anyone get confirmation on this? We have a placeholder and have been waiting for fall 2019 dates which came yesterday and were curious if we could use our placeholder/discount/obc for DVC cruise....

No. DVC cruise is not booked via DCL, and the DCL placeholder and discount is only for cruises booked by DCL. The DVC cruise is basically a private charter.
