Place To ship emergency package??

We are driving to WDW, arriving tomorrow. I'm feeling like the worst mom ever! My son is diabetic, and I forgot his insulin pens!! We have enough through Sunday. Of course this has no refills, so simply heading to a pharmacy won't be easy.

We are renting a home that can't get packages/mail. Does anyone know of a place I could have them overnighted? I wasn't sure if we could ship directly to a FedEx etc to have them overnighted??

I would greatly appreciate any ideas. I wish we were at a Disney resort, since I bet I could ship there.

Call your Dr. and have them fax a prescription to the nearest pharmacy.

I agree to call your doctor first but it might not be that easy. Even with out refills left your doctor will most likely write you an new MIL did not have enough meds. We were staying with family so over-nighting them to us worked but we tried to get a new prescription and doctor said sure but when we tried to fill it and they ran the insurance they would not pay and it was crazy expensive.

Yes, you can have things sent via FedEx and have them held for pick up. Of course, you will need to find out where the pick up location is but Fed Ex will help you with that. Just tell them where you are staying and they will figure out the nearest location.

I'm assuming a family member/friend is doing the shipping for you? Have them use the nearest FedEx, they'll know how to handle it - but can you ship insulin pens? Don't they have to stay in a certain temperature range? Although, I guess they ship them from factory to pharmacy somehow?

Thank you all for your suggestions. My son just happened to have an extra that was given to him from school that day, so that got us through a few extra days. I had our pet sitter from home 2 day a pen to may aunt, who was meeting us later in the trip.

For the poster who asked...pens are kept in the fridge until they are opened, so it was fine for two days.

Thanks again! It was a stressful few hours, not knowing how to get one (without paying an arm and a leg for get a new RX without insurance covering it). You better believe this will be the first thing I pack from now on!
