I'm trying to make my "at-home" wedding have alittle Disney flair and this is one way i've come up with....

Instead of using table "numbers" to designate where everyone will sit I want to name the tables after WDW resorts. So it won't be "Mr and Mrs. smith table 7" it will be "Mr. and Mrs. Smith Contemporary Table". I love the idea and DF is totally on board with it! Now i'm trying to figure out a cool way to do the place cards and how to designate each table. Has anyone ever done anything like this or have any ideas on how to execute my idea?

TIA Disbrides!:bride:

Maybe use the Resort Logo on each place card and on the center of the table. I'm sure all the resorts have one, but I think the All Stars share 1.

Since we're have a small wedding we'd only need (estimate) about 8 or 9 tables. So thats a good idea!:thumbsup2 I probably wouldn't even need to go to the all-star's.

I think using the logos would be great like this...

If you really wanted to do it up, you could theme the decor of each table to the resort.

I don't think I have any pictures, but what I did was to print small clear label (I think they were the return address labels which are really small) with the tables names which I placed on the back of my placecards. Here is the front of my cards and as you can see this kept them from having too many words on the front since you couldn't even see the label with the table name. I even put a small character next to the name (since I did Disney characters after my snowglobe centerpieces).

That is very very cute! I like the mickey head on it! Thats a good idea too. I dont want them to become too much and people to think its tacky... We have some non-disney fans (:scared:I know, not good) So i'm trying to keep the disney references there but not too in the face. DF and I thought of doing ride names for the tables or disney characters but it seemed too much. Atleast with the resort names even if people don't get the reference it wouldn't really matter all that much. So i like how you did this where the front of the card still looked elegant and classy but still had that little disney touch!:goodvibes

I did something similar for my non-Disney wedding. We did loactions on our college's campuses since that is where we met. I pulled pictures from the Internet of each location and made them black and white. The placecards were really simple.

ETA: I printed the table names as 5x7 pictures at Wal-Mart for $.88 so these were VERY inexpensive to make and easy to transport!

I think the resorts are a great idea. Another thing you could do would be to seperatley theme each table to match the resort - have a really modern floral arrangemnet on the contemp table and something tropical for the poly etc.

Just thinking about other stuff I assume you prolly aren't into snow white but your table could be snow white and you could have 7 dwarfs...

There are 11 disney theme parks throughout the world.

There are 11 countried in Epcot. This theme would be a much more subtle disney... You could take pictures of yourselves in each country for the table and use plane ticket type place cards.

I kind of like the resorts the most though. Depending on how into disney you are you could theme each table after your favorite retired attractions.

DD is thinking of using football players from the Pittsburg Steelers for her table names. Her fiance is a diehard pittsburg fan so we thought about doing this to surprise him. Also opinion please:: we're thinking to save some costs, hand out tickets for drinks for the bar. And I was thinking of attaching drink tickets to the seating cards. Unfortunately we have just a few people who might take advance if we have a open bar. So we're thinking that drink tickets will be the answer.

I used different disney movies for each of my engagement party tables. I used snowglobes as centerpeices too. They came out great!!! At school right now so cant post them, if you go to my pj, there are oics on the first page!! Good Luck.

wow guys! these are some awesome ideas! :thumbsup2 The only thing is that the centerpieces are included with the wedding package we are doing at our reception hall. There are alot of options i can choose from but i think asking them to make disney resort themed centerpieces would be alittle much! :rotfl:

CoP luv Those are amazing!! That was kind of what i was thinking of doing. Make some nice black and white print outs of the resorts. It'll look artsy and classy but sit have that little disney touch! :cloud9:

promomx2 I'm a huge Pats fan!! uh-oh... rivalry!!! :lmao:hahaha! But that is an awesome Idea! Maybe I could do some kind of room key as the place cards.

Oh the possibilities!!!!
