place for big breakfast?

We need a place to eat a big breakfast on our day away from the parks. We already have dinners scheduled at Kona, Boma and Chef Mickey. The boys (dh, 13, 11) are not too sure about another character one. What would you suggest for a big breakfast before a morning of shopping at Downtown Disney?

Depends on where u r staying, but Whispering Canyon Cafe does an all you can eat skillet for breakfast. It's not a character place but the servers do get involved with shenanigans and it's a great laugh. There is also a menu where u can choose items as well as the skillet. We have done dinner there which was great and are looking forward to breakfast there in August.

We had the all you can eat dinner skillet and the potatoes were heavenly. we have no kids but still enjoyed the crazy atmosphere. It is at the WL which can be reached from MK by bus or boat (boat recommended).

We have also got a breakfast at Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club which is character but always has fabulous reviews. Looking forward to that as well. Buses will take u from both resorts to DTD.

You could always have a light breakfast at ur hotel and have an early lunch at Raglan Road which the boys might see as a bit more of a "grown up" option. Also At DTD we love Earl of Sandwich they do breakfast sandwiches and muffins etc.

I agree that you should go for a big lunch. Make your shopping day a SLEEP IN morning! You will probably need a late start day after touring parks for several days.

The Captain's Grille in the Yacht Club has a nice buffet that should fill everyone.

Boma at the AKL
Trails End at FW (cheapest buffet breakfast on property)
Cape May Cafe at the BC (it is a character meal but very calm)
Captains Grille at the YC
Whispering Canyon Cafe a the WL

Actually you can get a big breakfast at CS. Check out the listing for the "Bounty platters or breakfast platters". We had one, declined the meat and I shared it with my 6yo, we still didn't finish it. If you're on the dining plan that would still leave a TS credit for bigger/later lunch or dinner. We ate that platter, ice cream bars at AK and then had room for the buffet at Boma.

It's a character breakfast buffet, but we LOVE Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club . It's a must do for us every trip. The food is great and there's lots of it . The characters are all dressed in beach wear...it's cute.

Boma! The food is amazing...I have a ton of pics and review from our April trip in my signature. We are there one day at 8 am and were not hungry again until 3!

I was thinking Whispering Canyon too, or else Cape May or 'Ohana, if you want characters. I would pick one that is close to where you're staying, just for ease of transportation.

If you want to make it a sleep-in day (doesn't work with my kids, lol), you could make it a little later.

We had the best breakfast last year at Spoodles on the Boardwalk. You could catch a bus from there to DTD after you eat. The food and service was outstanding. We ate there for one of our last meals during our visit last spring--only wish we had tried it sooner because we would have eaten there more than once.

1900 Park Fare @Grand Floridian---excellent food, made to order egss ,more food than i can list here. we always go there for breakfast on our last day b4 leaving for home.

The most bang for the buck is Fresh at the Dolphin. And just to make things better, the food is great. And they have wonderful coffee!

My vote is for the Crystal Palace. I like to make my ressie for before the park opens. There is nothing like walking down Main Street USA when it's empty. I really like the breakfast also. The puffed french toast is awesome.

A late breakfast at Boatwright's is always good. When you're finished with breakfast, you can take the boat (11:10 A.M.) to Downtown Disney. The boat ride is really nice.

I also think Boatwrights is a great option. The prices are very good and the food is great. They have an exact version of the Tonga Toast that's served at Kona, only difference is that they put Stawberrys on it. (Yummy!!)
