Inside the magic is reporting that Disney will be adding more Muppet decor in the coming weeks.

Before everyone trashes this, please remember this is the assumption that Muppets interact in normal world. This is a NY style Pizza place, which is styled correctly, the fact it is run by a muppet did not mean it was to be muppet filled.

Love the decore, love the added features from old SoA.

That's where I disagree. I've eaten at places that have ready to eat slices that are NY style. Definitely quick service. Definitely possible. Perhaps when they get through their industrial freezer full of pizza planet pizzas they will make the switch.....

I think that's where you might be asking to much. I do wish the pizza was better but having hot and ready New York style pizza is probably not the best option for Disney when feeding thousands on a daily basis.

We are just talking a recipe switch. I'm not saying that at noon they need to have 10000 slices sitting up on the counter ready to be picked up. I'm saying that they should be able to deliver those slices within 5-7 minutes. A pizza takes about 12 minutes to cook in an oven. I'm not convinced that they can't have enough pizza ovens or pizza makers to serve a lunch crowd in quick service manner. I think they could absolutely do it. If they can't make them fresh for some reason ($$), they certainly could change the recipe of what they are using.

ETA: If I'm Disney, I don't want to be outclassed by Sbarro's. That's really my point...

Considering a busy Blaze Pizza does comparable volume (and they customize per customer) in about a quarter of the kitchen space, this seems like a miss.

In college there was a Little Caesars on campus that churned out a pizza every 45 seconds for the Wednesday lunch deal. That place had a huge line and moved plenty of food. Strip the options to 'plain' and 'pepperoni' and it's much simpler, especially with a conveyor oven.

Show me ONE NY pizza place that has all the # of people coming at one time as a WDW park. Not gonna find it.

I don't think that's the right comparison; there are other food options including those on the Boardwalk. People are not constrained to eating just at PizzaRizzo's.

More concretely: Michigan Stadium routinely has 110,000 people in attendance for a game and you can get pizza that was made within an hour. DHS's average attendance is around 35,000.

Again, you are missing the point. DHS right now is limited in food options, and once TSL and SWE opens, the crush will be even greater. No pizza place could keep up with the demand. I have worked in many pizza parlors, you can only put out so much, so fast, even with the conveyor style ovens.

Now, would I love a real pizza, sure, I don't mind the old pizza though, it is what is is when you are looking to eat fast at WDW

Good point. Do they just open the frozen pizzas, add a drop of water, and voila! Pizza finished? Perhaps that explains the taste?

They are most likely pre-made crusts at the very least. With the limited menu, I wouldn't be surprised if they are entirely pre-made, and only a heat and eat type of product. Unsure what the kitchen size is, but I'd wager very little prep can be done there, so heat and eat is likely the only option.
Flat NY style pizza doesn't really lend itself to the heat and eat style of cooking.
Ingredients can be better. I think sauce and cheese choice is a huge factor in the taste. I think many tourist destinations tend to avoid spice in sauces, and to me that is a big factor in killing off a nicely flavored pizza regardless of style.
This pizza could be very good, at the risk of it turning up the nose of half it's consumers. Many kids are happy with an english muffin pizza, made with ketchup and a little mozzarella.

Certainly room in wdw for a nice pizza place that requires ADR's, but I don't think this is the place. It's a quick in and out just like all the other quick service spots.

This leads me to my next suggestion. With the app integrated into food and bev, is it time for online ordering from Quick service at select locations.
Order and pay via the app, then it's prepared in the 15 minutes while you walk to the location, pick it up and find your seat. It would eliminate a cash register person, saving the company money etc.
