Sorry to say it but spoodles has got to have the worst pizza in the world, for a Disney resteraunt its you would think they could get a better pizza chef . comming from the New Haven CT area we have pepes and sallys pizza two of the best places in the country lets get it together Disney

They don't know how to make pizza in Florida. They need to import some New Jersey or New York chefs.

I prefer Boston pizza but I do agree the pizza is WDW is the absolute worst.

Are all the pizzas the same no matter where you get them? Are the dough, sauces, and cheese all the same and the only difference is who's cooking your individual pie?

Are you talking about in WDW I wouldn't think so ,back home we have a wonderfull pizza place in stony creek that makes a sweet potato crust, I just think Florida dosen't have a clue:smooth:

The pizza at Disney definatly isn't the best. It's more like something from the frozen food section insteed of something you'd expect to get at a restaurant. The only exception I can think of is Wolfgang Puck's restaurants at DTD. They have great pizza.

And just so you know, Florida does have lots of great pizza places, just not in real touristy areas like WDW. It's hard to get quality when you're trying to have the right quantity of pizza to feed visitors to the one of the most visited resort destinations in the world.

For the "brick-oven variety", I think Disney has some good choices (Portobello Yacht Club and California Grill come to mind). But, for "conventional" pizza, I agree. It actually reminds me of pizza you'd find in a roller rink (those who grew up in the 70's know what I mean ;) ).

I have to agree with a lot of these posts. We had pizza at Mama Melrose last summer and didn't enjoy it at all. And for me to not like pizza, it must have been bad!

When we got to POFQ 2 weeks ago, we ate at the food court and got a pizza. Not that good. Later in the week we got one at the Pepper Market at CSR. It'll serve 2 people for $7.00 and it really is the best we've had on the property.

We eat plenty of pizza back here in PA so we don't usually (with the exception of my DS age 7 who will eat any pizza for any meal) bother ordering it in Florida - DH is from a little town in PA called Roseto which is all Italian - so nothing compares to that pizza for him.

I *love* the Boardwalk takeout pizza from the window off of Spoodles. Maybe I'm just hitting them on really good nights. Maybe the reason I like it so much is because it *does* remind me of snack bar pizza from when I was a kid at the local "Skateworld". :)

I love the roller rink refrence to the pizza. During the late 70's to the mid 80's I grew up at the roller rink and the ice rink. WDW pizza is better than theirs, but not by much. I do like Wolfgang Pucks Express's pizzas however.

This may be way off base but I've heard it more than a few times.
The reason pizza (and breads) are not as good in Florida is because of the water used in making the dough. ???

I read that somewhere in Florida, someone opened up a pizza place and was having the water shipped down from New York.

I'll have to do some research. ;)

At Disney, we stick with the flatbread type of pizza and they are very good!

Hmmmm, pizza in Boston's North End! Yummy!!

glad to hear you also think spoodles pizza stinks. We tried it one night, pretty pricey and disgusting. The pizza at Tubbies in the dolphin is fairly good, similar to dominos back home.

We really hate the pizza at Spoodles also, and also hate most of the fast food pizza in the parks (except for Pizzafari - which is so-so). The absolute worst pizza is the Electric Umbrella in Epcot - the crust tastes like Bisquik.
We do however like Wolfgang's Pucks Express pizza...I especially like the barbecue chicken one...and we all love the pizza at Disney Quest. It is somewhat expensive - $3.50 a slice, but they are huge slices and are delicious.
