Pizza without tomato sauce?

I'm going to Disney with my little brother (21) next year and I have what probably sounds like an odd question.

He loves pizza but he has issues with tomato sauce. It's not an allergy, he just hates it (and ketchup)! I know that some restaurants offer white pizza (which he likes), but he is always willing to eat a regular cheese or meat pizza as long as it doesn't have tomato sauce. Will he be able to get this anywhere in the park? Not just at the sit-down restaurants, but can you make special dietary requests at counter service restaurants? I wouldn't think so, considering it's basically fast food and a lot of it is probably frozen food, but maybe someone here has experienced this? Also, would they be able to give him a pizza without tomato sauce if we do the in-room pizza service at our resort? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer! I wish he was less picky. :rolleyes1

I think at a lot of counterservice places, the pizzas are premade and they won't be able to provide special ones.

I do know at Pop Century food court, while the adult pizzas are premade, the kids' pizzas are made to order...that's something he could try.

The pizzas are made on site. They can make them w/o tomato sauce.

I am totally sending that site to him! :rotfl2: Thanks!

Would they allow him to buy a kids' pizza even though he's an adult?

Most of the CS places make items in bulk to have them hot and ready for pick-up

BUT

If you are willing to wait for a pizza to be made without tomato sauce it could take 15 minutes, but they will do it if they possibly can. Most of the pizza is not frozen / pre-made

I am a terribly picky eater and have had them special make both pizza and sandwiches without standard items.

We have the same issues - neither myself nor my DS eat pizza with tomato sauce. We have been able to request pizzas without at most places however, POFQ food court weren't able to do it, nor were All Star Music food court. If I remember rightly, a lot of the pizzas are pre-made with the sauce already on - definitely this is the case for the adult pizzas at the food courts (not sure about the kids ones but someone else has said you should be OK with them) and I believe Pizzafari at AK is the same.

Most places you will find premade pizzas but I guess they have some arrangement for requests..:)

I must meet your brother, b/c I am the same way. I cannot stand tomatoes, tomato sauce, etc.

My friends tell me I ruin an Italian Delecacy (spelling), b/c, whenever I go to places that serve pizza, I either go for a slice that is low on sauce, or request sauceless. Like CiCi's Pizza. Tomato Sauce? No go.

That was a joke, really. I'm not really one to call anyone picky, as I've been a vegetarian for about 12 years.

I know but I live with a man who doesn't eat vegetables and is called "picky" by his own mother. I get called "picky" because I don't eat fish. Gets a bit aggravating. I prefer to use the word "choosy". :goodvibes

NorthernJulie we must be related!!! I too have skin issues whenever I eat anything that has tomatoes in it I turn all splotchy & get itchy. Glad to know i;m not the only one all my friends & family tease me about it. No Italian for me unless its alfredo:stir:

I've never tried getting pizza from a counter service without tomato sauce, but I have at Mama Melrose's. I got the Four Cheese Flatbread but with basil pesto instead of tomato sauce.

I don't mind a nice smooth tomato sauce (like at the counter services), but I can't stand tomato sauce that has actual chunks in it - it's a texture thing. And the tomato sauce at Mama Melrose's is chunky, so I just ask them to replace the tomato sauce with the basil pesto (make sure to specify so you don't actually get sun-dried tomato pesto).

Oooh, I was hoping they might exchange the tomato sauce for something else! He loves pesto and olive oil. Also, I think we'll probably eat at Mama Melrose's when we visit HS so thanks for the tip! :thumbsup2

Mama Melrose would be a good choice because they have a couple of different flat bread (pizza's) to choose from and they will customize them. It was my sons favorite place to eat our entire trip last week because they made him his cheeseless pizza. He likes his with just sauce and pepperoni. He ate every last bite and asked if we could go back!

Does the tomato phobia include BBQ sauce? RFC has a great (IMO) pizza with BBQ sauce and grilled chicken - the Brave New World. The Artist's Palette at SSR also serves a BBQ-based flatbread that's pretty good.
