Pizza Delivery Leaflet Scam

Yep. Do not ever call for a pizza based on one of those flyers you find under your door. Assume they are not legit. If you read them, you will note most of the time that no address for the pizza joint is printed on the flyers, and they encourage the use of credit cards (they might say "we take all major credit cards."). They are trying to get you to give them your credit card number. Some of the callers actually did get a pizza, but it would end up being a reheated supermarket frozen pizza that cost quite a few dollars less than the "pizzeria" charges. These flyers also often appear at WDW resorts.

If you'd like to order a pizza, only use legitimate businesses. Look up a national chain, use internet or a phone book (do they still have those in the rooms)? or ask the front desk to recommend a legit pizza delivery.

Yeah, this was on an episode of the DIS Unplugged a couple of years ago. They had a local law enforcement officer on talking about personal security while on vacation, and this pizza scam was one of the items she listed.

I was staying at Cypress Palms last week. There was a pamphlet put under our door. I wasn't going to order pizza anyway but I remembered how to find the scam. I checked the pamphlet completely for a physical address, surprise there was not one. That scam is still alive and working.

That is why we only order delivery pizza from places we know like Giordano or Papa Johns. While Papa Johns isn't very good, it was late when we got in and they were close and we know they are a real pizza place. I will forfeit good pizza to get a legitimate pizza place.

Flippers [pizza etc] is on the WBC ... ok to deliver list.

Any flyer slipped under the door ~ goes straight in the trash.

This post is a few months old but I wanted to update anyone interested. Disney does not allow distribution of any type of flyer, pizza or otherwise, ANYWHERE on Disney property. If you find one under your door or stuck in the door jam, assume it is a scam. Please call the front desk right away should you find one. You may order pizza delivered, but only by companies listed in your room phone book or in the guest guide you receive from the resort and you may only pick it up at the lobby. Anyone caught putting flyers in guest room doors will be permanently banned from ALL Disney properties.

Great advice about notifying the hotel, especially if you are in the room and see the flyer being slid under the door. Do not engage the person, but dial "0" and alert the hotel operator and/or the Front Desk.

I was at the DoubleTree Suites at Disney Springs about two weeks ago and had that scenario happen. When I called I got a big "thank you" and was told that she'd be immediately calling the Orlando County Sherriff since it sounded like the person might still be in the hotel. No clue what happened, but it felt good to help.

We stayed at Aoa a few weeks ago and we received this flyer. So keep an eye out for it.
